Fan Problem

Hi guys,over the last,maybe 2 months or so,the fan in my XBOX 360 power supply had been making lots of noise,I first though it might need to be lubricated,but I think it's just loose possibly. I do what I can to keep the power supply clean,and recently blew
it out carefully using compressed air. As recently as a few days ago,the fan stopped working,I would turn my XBOX on and the fan would run for a little while before stopping. I though about getting a special screwdriver to see if I could take it apart and
find the problem,but now I'll probably just see if I can get a new one,is there anything else I could do though, or is it just time to replace it?

Fan problem?

I think my fan has died. When I boot my Xbox One I get the green splash screen then a warning message about ventilation. I can hit A on the controller and it goes to the home screen. I can log in, open the Xbox preview programme app and and watch a youtube
video, but when I open a game it last about 20 seconds before the xbox shuts down completely. At that point everytime I turn it back on it shuts down again. When you first switch on from cold the fan normally runs for a few seconds, but this isn't happening
now so that's why I think the fan has failed and it is overheating.

As luck would (NOT) have it, its warranty only just expired in November!!! What are my options and how much will it cost to fix?

It probably will since it is out of warranty but it will be less than a new console. Good Luck!

Sorry to hear about the issues with your power supply!

Unfortunately, as you seem to have surmised at this point the power supply will need to be replaced. We don't have steps beyond what you have already tried for the Xbox 360 console.

Reaching out to a local game store or console retailer would be the best course of action at this time.
