    Fan Noise from XBox One S


    Hi all! I have an XBox One S that I purchased from Amazon in December 2016 (when they did they Battlefield One bundle). It runs just fine and always has although I haven't used it a ton, but it does have a noisy fan.

    I am well out of my warranty period but the fan has always done this since day 1; this was the first XBox I ever owned so I figured it was normal. Only recently did I have some folks over who told me this was abnormal, and after searching online I found
    several YouTube videos of owners having the same issue.

    Ultimately I can still use the console just fine, and since the warranty period is only a year Microsoft are not obligated to help me anymore, but I'm wondering if this was a widespread issue that perhaps resulted in a recall I can take advantage of? Or
    barring that, what the odds are that Microsoft will work with me despite the fact that the warranty is up?

    It's completely my fault for not recognizing the problem for what it is and filing a claim as soon as I got the device, so if nothing can be done at this point I'll just keep using it with the rattle - it's not bad enough that I can't get over it. Just would
    be nice to have it quiet if that were possible.

    Why did my Xbox One S beep and click

    it was coming from the hard drive. i did an internet seach and the clicking noise was similar to the "hard drive click of death". A failing hard drive.

    My cousin's xbox one S made the same clicking noise with no beep, the clicking in his xbox was coming from the fan

    The noise from the video on youtube is fan noise. All xbox ones are the same.

    Hi - I recently bought and Xbox one S and can confirm mine is making the same noise- seems to be coming from the fan/fan bearing.

    Looking on the web, a few people that have bought a One S recently appear to have 'rattling' fans. People appear to say its not normal however.

    I'm going to try to take mine back to the shop I bought it from to see if they will exchange it for another one.

    Xbox One X Fan sounds way louder than usual

    Ok I moved it and it has not shut off sense but the Xbox One X Fan noise is not constant and is still loud maybe not as loud as a jet engine like I describe before but still loud way louder than my Xbox One S and OG Xbox One, it would have a fan burst
    when I'm playing which is loud and annoying and the fan noise would never be at a constant noise level while I'm playing a game.
