    Fan making "clicking" noise


    Hello!

    My Xbox One has been making the following noise (sound is a touch exaggerated as I got in really close):

    Dropbox - Error

    If this is purely cosmetic I don't mind at all—just want to make sure it won't cause problems down the road. If it is major, however, I guess I'll have to take care of it. Just don't want to send stuff out if I don't need to.

    Xbox One Fan Noise

    Hello,

    My Xbox One has been making a faint clicking noise for the last month or two. I have read that the fan could be failing and I have also recently read that Microsoft replaced a lot of Xbox One fans a while back that were making noise. Unfortunately my warranty
    has expired, but I was wondering if I could also get my fan replaced.

    Back from repair, still fan noise

    The clicking noise is always on regardless of what's going on. It feels warm, but nothing alarming. I'll take your advice and use your Contact Us page.

    Clicking noise?

    A clicking noise would be either A) the fan off balance at low RPM or B) the HDD. The HDD would only make noise while seeking though so probably your fan if it's constant.

    My fan was making a clicking noise, so I used the stand and set it in a vertical position and now it's all good.

    Thanks for reaching out here in Xbox Forums. I understand there is an issue with the Xbox console. Sounds like it may be a hardware issue.

    To help clarify the issue:

    • What Xbox console do you have?
    • When does the noise happen?
    • Does it happen when you play a disc game?
    • Is the console in a well-ventilated area?

    I have read quite a few articles with people stating the exact same issue, and it seems in every case to be something going on with the fan. It doesn't seem to be a detrimental issue but if you would like it serviced the best thing to do would be to send
    it in (as you well know). I hope this helps in the very least knowing this is a common "issue".
