Family sharing Xbox live gold / Destiny

Been playing Destiny for three years purchased physical game but purchased other content online, my son has shown interest in playing Destiny as well, set up home console to enable Xbox live gold sharing, my son is actually unable to access strikes or crucible
matches as it advises that Requirements not met and that Gold needs to be purchased, following link takes you to the purchase screen to purchase another gold subscription. I've tried to link/unlink profile, remove/add to family, remove sons Live account from
the console, hard resetting it, clearing cache, setting home console. Nothing seems to work! Spent 6 hours trying to get this to work so any help would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like something has gone wrong in the set-up of your home console settings have you went through the checklist on how to set it up?

 

If you have more than one xbox console in the home, only 1 Xbox can be configured as the home Xbox...

Can he access the campaign or is he unable to access the game at all? What you might try is to set up another gamertag, and see if that one has access. I also wonder if your sons account is set to a child account. Destiny is a M rated game, and he might
not have access to playing it because he has a child account. If you try setting up another gamertag, make certain that it is not a child account.
