    family sharing/showing offline

Hi. I recently got a second Xbox so the kids can play games together. I have set up profiles for them and done the family sharing thing. However the new profiles always appear as offline in friends list. They can still play together if I send an invite from
the original profile even though it says they are offline. Also can't talk to each other in the party app. It connects but again can't hear whoever is using the new profile. Checked settings and the profile should be showing as online. Contacted microsoft
ran me through some steps then said it would change within 24 hours which has now been and gone. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks.

    :)

Gee Thanks MS for the big [Mod edit] to your loyal consumers

They fixed a bunch of [Mod edit: profanity] policies. Offline-Play, Region-Free and Actual Ownership is more important than Family-Sharing.

Please give us the choice to OPT-IN to your 24 hr check in for those of us that want the future.

100% AGREE THAT THEY SHOULD GIVE AN OPT-IN OPTION

(a)Has DRM, check in every 24 hrs , Family sharing. Allways online xbox one.

    Or

(b)No DRM can play Offline games no 24 hrs check in , resell trade in games ect, Dont need internet to play xbox one.

MY ANSWER IS (A) Has DRM. Check in every 24 hrs, Family Sharing, Allways online

    Hi Skilander5,

Sorry you're having issues with your family appearing offline. Do you have other friends that are online? Try going to the settings one of the profiles Privacy Settings and select Custom, Make sure "See if you're online" is set to "Everyone or Friends".
if it's set to "block", then change to one of the other options. If that doesn't work, I would suggest going to Settings, all Settings, Network Settings, and then looking in the middle to see your NAT. Make sure this is Open.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Skilander5,

If you're getting a strict NAT I would suggest first following this
    NAT error solution
. If you run through that guide and still have issues, follow the forum post here. Also, something to keep in mind, if you're running two consoles and you've done port forwarding or DMZ rather than using UPnP, this could cause one console
to always resolve strict NAT. I'm not sure what your home network setup is like, but that could be a possibility.

Xbox One games linked to one account? What about families?

It's obvious that you can probably subscribe to family subscriptions which allow for sharing within the family zone on the same console if you all want to go on Xbox Live. Anyone who is not on the family sub will be classed as an outsider and won't be able
to play your games. The alternative is likely that like you can with Xbox 360 is create multiple offline accounts tied to the console for other family members who can share all the primary account holder's games offline and get their own achievements etc.

What's your biggest surprise/disappointment of Gamescom so far?

@24 Care to share why that is? I don't remember Family Share saying that it would let you play offline games online or pause a game and pass it. I could be mistaken though enlighten me.
