    Family sharing doesn't work properly

My dad, my sister, and I are using Microsoft's xbox family sharing and are using the xbox Game Pass. We've only used the game to play Sea of Thieves, in case that matters. My dad can play games fine, but my sister and I have lots of problems.

We have a laptop and a PC we use to play. All 3 of our accounts are on both computers, and Sea of Thieves(SoT), XBox Companion, and Microsoft Store are downloaded on all 3 machines. I can use my SoT account only on the laptop, my dad can use either, and
my sister can't play on either computer, even though she used to be able to play on the laptop.

For example, I can only play the games when signed into my dad's Windows profile account but my XBox Console Companion account. If this seems confusing, that's because it is. When I try to use my own Windows profile, Microsoft Store and XBox Console Companion
want me to purchase the game instead of using family sharing.

Also, when my sister tries to use the Game Pass it asks to get Parental Permission through email to launch a game, specifically Sea of Thieves, and then states there has been an error and that we should try again later.

I hope this makes sense to any readers, because I barely understand what is going on. What I do know is that this problem is very frustrating to try and solve because there are so many problems that don't explain themselves, like how I can use Family Sharing
on one computer but not another. These errors don't give any details as to why they are happening, and I don't see any clear pattern to any of the issues.

    :)

Two xbox one. One xbox live gold subscription. Half working.

Both of you must have a Gold subscription for that to work properly.

The home Xbox sharing feature is meant to be used by families in the same household not across the internet with random friends.

    Xbox 360 - Family sharing doesn't work

I did install the games BEFORE i did the license transfer. Do i need to re-download the games AFTER i transffered the licenses?

I am currently playing the games that i cannot play on my new Xbox 360 on my old Xbox 360.

    Xbox 360 - Family sharing doesn't work

I believe that the profile that has the game must be signed in on an Xbox 360 in order to access the game. It's not like the Xbox One where you can set the console to "home" to share the games with other profiles.
On the 360 it does work a little differently, but you can share games without needing to be signed in. When you purchase a game you're given 2 licenses, a console license and an account license. The account license allows you to sign in and use your content
on any console. The console license allows you to use your content without having to be signed into the console. Anyone who is using the same console you originally bought the content on can access your games. The license transfer moves the console license
if you get a new console so you can continue using content offline or share it.

    Xbox 360 - Family sharing doesn't work

Me any my brother have had an Xbox since 2009, we got lots of games through Games with Gold that we kept and both of us could enjoy them.

Recently we got a new Xbox 360, the storage was wiped and we downloaded our profiles and some of our games on it.

Turns out we can't play each other's game anymore. We tried transferring the licenses to the new Xbox but it still wouldn't work.

What is the reason behind this error and is there any way to resolve it?
Family sharing is a "Xbox one" feature. However you can still share downloaded content on an x360 if either the content is downloaded onto the "first" console the license was downloaded to, or if the gamertag who purchased the content is logged in.

When you move to a new Xbox 360, you will have to remove the license history from the old console and re-download titles to the new machine for the license transfer to work.
