Family sharing 2 licenses of sea of thieves for 3 or 4 Family members

I have 1 sea of thieves license purchased at the windows store. My kids play on 2 pc’s using their own microsoft accounts through family sharing. This works fine. So kids are logged on in Windows and xbox companion with their own accounts. I am logged on
to the windows store on their pc,s

When I try to join them with my account on a third pc it only works for a few minutes and then i am kicked out. Apparently that is how it supposed to work, it is nice that 2 persons can play on 1 license anyway.

So i want to buy a second license so me and my wife can also join the game and we can have a crew of 4 in sea of thieves. I am in doubt how to get a second license.

I can’t buy a game twice in the windows store as far as i know.

Should i buy another license on one of my kids accounts? let him login to windows, store and xbox companion with his microsoft account.

Does family sharing also work with 2 licenses for 4 family members, all in the same microsoft family? Or should i devorce Family sharing 2 licenses of sea of thieves for 3 or 4 Family members :) and split up the microsoft family in 2 groups?

Hope my question is clear. We can’t wait to conquer the seas as a family.

    :)

As far as I know account family stuff wont make a difference. Buying a second copy of sea of thieves for any one of the 3 other accounts will let you be able to have 4 players.

Just have the 2 with your account signed into Microsoft store, and the other 2 with the second account you buy it on signed into the Microsoft store on the other 2. You may have to mark one pc as available offline for each account that owns the license,
I'm not sure if that's part of how you get 2 playing on one license or not. With xbox that's basically how you can share by marking one as home that any account can play on, an then the owner account can play on any one device its signed into.

If you happen to have an Xbox One, sea of thieves purchased through Microsoft store is play anywhere title so you could have people playing on 2 xbox with one license as well. I'm not sure if you would be able to have 3-4 playing with 2 pc and 2 Xbox on
one license or not. I have used PC with xbox on one license for 2 players and I know that works fine.

I hope this information was helpful

Definately usefull. I ordered a second copy on my sons account (50% discount, that was a nice surprise) so we hope to test tonight and see if it works.

Thanks and will let you know results.

    play wthout a license

    Hi!

The licenses are linked to the account that made the purchase. However, content sharing could be done between the family member, but there is a need to have a access credentials for family accounts.

xbox gold family account purchasing points

    Hello Robo,

only the primary member can buy points but you can share to others.

How do I share points with family members (secondary accounts)?

The primary member on the Gold Family Pack membership can give Microsoft Points to other family members (secondary members), so that they can make purchases on Xbox LIVE.

    Give points to family members

1.On your console, sign in to Xbox LIVE using the Family Pack primary account (the account used to sign up for the Family Pack membership).

2.Go to Settings, and then select Family.

3.Select the member that you want to give points to.

    4.Select Grant Allowance.

5.Follow the on-screen instructions to give Microsoft Points to the secondary member. Points that you give to a secondary member cannot be reversed later.

Note If you don’t have enough points in your account, you’ll be prompted to add more points before giving points to the secondary member.
