    Hi

My family have shared one Xbox one with our own gamer tags but we have purchased a new one S (to reduce the arguments obviously) and would like to share all games and all be able to play on either console.

I have xbox gold live account which we share but is this possible as the old one is our ‘Home’ console.

    your help is greatly appreciated

    :)

Hi you can't share the subscription and games simultaneously on both Xbox's. Making the new one your home Xbox just makes the new one your new home xbox. Which removes you from the other one. One of you will have to buy a separate subscription and possibly
the game too if you plan on playing together.

Here is the link explaining how things work

If you have just the two consoles then it's very easy to both game share and share Xbox Live.

If you are the owner of the Xbox Live Gold account, and purchase all the games, then you set the other Xbox to be the "Home" xbox for that account. Now everybody on that console can play online, and play every game offline without any issue. Then you put
your account on to the other Xbox, and as long as you are online, you'll have full access to everything that you own.

It's the system that I've had in place since the launch of the Xbox One because my brother and I both have our own consoles.

Thanks for the speedy reply and for my ignorance.

So I need to set the new Xbox One S as my ‘home’ instead of the old ‘Xbox One?

Will i need to be logged in to one at all times to all the digital downloads to share?

also will it matter which console i download new games on to continue to share them?

    thanks

If you set the Xbox One S to be your home console, then everybody on the Xbox One S will have access to your Xbox Live Gold features, and your digital games. For anything on disc you'll obviously need a second copy. Your Game Pass games will be shared as
well, and you and your kids will be able to play the games at the same time on both consoles. You don't need to be signed in, just make sure the Xbox One S is set as your home console.

To access your content on your old Xbox One, your account will need to be signed in and you'll need to be connected to Xbox Live. So if your internet is down, you'll unfortunately be unable to play your games on the Xbox One, but you'll still be able to
play your games on your 'home' Xbox One S. So if your kids want to play against each other, one can play on the 'home' Xbox One S, and the other can play on the old Xbox One as long as you are also signed in on the old Xbox One. But if you are playing with
your account on the 'home' Xbox One S, then your kids will be unable to play on the old Xbox One. I hope that makes sense?

You'll be able to download any games (old purchases or new ones) on both consoles. It's a good system and it works really well.

That's not how it works. Everybody can access everything on the home Xbox console, and the person who's account is in charge can access everything on any Xbox One console as long as they are online at the time. You can share the games, and play the games
at the same time. The link you provided even says as much. EA Access trials also can't be shared, neither can in-game currency and some multiplayer skins as well.
