Family share with up to 10 family

when I first read up on the Xbox one you were supposed to be able to share your library with up to 10 family members regardless of the console.

meaning I could share my brothers games even though we don't live in the same houses. (3of us, 3 different consoles, 3 different households)

after finally buying mine, it seems that's no longer the case.

What happened to up to 10 family members can share your library?

This was promised and needs to be a feature. It also needs to include all of the 360 backwards compatible games as well.

i can understand not being able to share the physical disc games, but the digital games should still be part of the Xbox one experience.

please make this feature available.

@bum family share meant you could share your games disc or digital via the cloud with up to 10 family or friends but only 2 out of the 10 at any given time. You could still trade in and buy second hand games.

oh forgot I don't trade in my games.

I realize that, I found that out when I looked for it after purchase.

I'm saying it needs to happen. It was a great idea and would give Xbox a huge one up on the ps4

 

If the internet didn't freak out over DRM, then maybe we would have that feature. But Phil Spencer has already stated that they are still looking into that option.

 

As zero divided said, when people freaked out about DRM, ms nixed the family plan. I think it would be easy to implement with digital titles only. With all the BC titles and a lot of people going digital it could be another feather in the xbox one's cap.
As long as you're connected to Live for verification you'd be able to access a friend's digital game library.

 

Once games can be shared up to 10 people the price of games will skyrocket. You think used games are a thorn in their side? Just wait til 1 person can share with 10. Hello.......

So glad it didn't happen because their draconian plans before release would have killed the brand. MS is severely lagging in sales compared to PS4 but if they went ahead with their anti-consumer plans as before it would have sold nothing besides the few
people who agreed with it because they were confused and didn't understand the full scope of the situation.

This is the epitome of "blessing in disguise".

 

I'm not going to dote on things long past; the fact of the matter is that a decision was made, it's not here, and what we do have works just fine (especially considering the fact that every digital game purchase is effectively a BOGO with itself so long
as you have access to 2 cconsoles).

 

1 person can already share with 10, if a family has 10 members they can share the physical copy.....

It wouldn't be overly difficult for a games publisher to come up with a business model which would work, but they are to lazy or to insecure to change the meta.

MS don't need to sell consoles to have a secure business, all they have to do with xbox is enforce the brand which they are doing well, and from what I can see with less costs than the competition.

It funny because a lot of game developers have clauses in their T&C to present things like xbox game share, but they never proceed to enforce them and happily count the players in their PR.

It will take time, a lot of time........
