Family share and license share limitations.

Not even sure if this has been answered in the past, I've been looking but can't see a definitive answer. So can anyone clear up this question for me? I have a ten year old step daughter who doesn't currently live with me, I'm considering updating to a
new 1Tb One and passing on my old 500Gb One to her. The question that has me stumped is how does this affect the whole 'home xbox' system? I want to continue sharing my gold sub and digital games with her but when I setup my new xbox she'll lose that ability
right? Is it possible for me to leave her console as my 'home console' and I then sign in on the new console and access my games and gold features? Anyone know how it works? Thanks peeps!

    :)

  2. Xbox homing policy

    Hi,

you only need to make the console you want to share with my home xbox that's it, the console you got the licenses on should be able to play on the games, bare in mind that if you have only one license for a game you both want to play then you cannot play
the same game at the same time due to licensing limitations, you may enjoy the other games while you wait or purchase a license on the account and xbox you want to share with so you both can enjoy the games at the same time.

Note: My home xbox is made for only to share with your family, unless the policy has changed for sharing.

I don't think so. You can only have one 'home' console.

As far as I know that should work, or just assign your new console as the "home" console and carry on sharing as before, you get 3 "home" assigns per year I believe.

  6. Your "home" xbox will have access to all digital content for any user online or offline. The user who purchased the content will have access to it while connected to xbox live. If you want your step daughter to have access to content you purchased, she
will need to be on your "home" xbox. You will both be able to access the same games and apps at the same time. The only downfall to this is you will NOT have access to your content if you are NOT online.

As others have said, set your console to her home, set her console to your home and she will basically leech your Gold membership (share might be a better word) and you'll be able to access each others digital content.
