family settings purchase consent

apologies if im in wrong place for this, but wonder if anyone can help..

Im trying to allow my 10 year old son to make his own purchases on xbox one..

He has a microsoft account and gamer tag and so do I, and I have managed to invite him as a family member and he accepted ..

So now he appears under family when i look online in any microsoft type accounts..

However, he cannot purchase anything it says his settings wont allow it , but when I try to go into privacy settings (as advised to) I should see his gameretag right ? .. Because Im advised that gamertags in the family group would show and so presumably
I click on his gamer tag and allow any settings that would give him consent to purchase..

I am confused if microsoft family is same as xbox family , but i cant for the life of me find a way of adding to xbox family .

Anyway hope that makes sense , basically I believe I have added him as family yet his gamer tag doesn not appear when i want to alter his privacy settings to allow purchases..

Its driving me mad ha ha

Minecraft - Parental Consent Asking For Purchase of Full Game

Hi,

We own Minecraft for Nintendo Switch AND Windows 10. I set up a Mojang and Microsoft account for my son. To access his Settings on his Mojang profile, it requires parental consent. I received the Parental Consent via my email. However, when I go to the
Parental Consent page, it's requiring me to purchase the game again for like $26! I thought it only required less than a $1 to confirm a child's account. Please help!
