    family settings passcode blocking everything


    I got an xbox 360 anout 6 to 8 months agp at a swap meet and havent tried even playing it until today. everyhing I try to do is blocked by"family settings" and it tell me i need to enter my family settings passcode to continue. Well i have no way of knowing
    what the last owner set and its 10,000 possibilities on a 0-9 four number passcode. how can i disable, reset or ??? to be able to play games on it?

    I also wanted to add to Smutches reply that the console you purchased was not new if there was a passcode on it. This means that there would be no warranty for the console so if you purchased it from a store I would recommend returning it for a replacement.

    how do you play off-line?

    You can block access to LIVE from the family settings.

    -

    Guide button, Settings blade and then Family Settings.

    -

    Change the setting to blocked and create the passcode.

    -

    Now every time you start your console, or sign-in you wont be able to access LIVE. Just disable the option in family settings when you want to play on LIVE again.

    XBOX LIVE PASSCODE.

    Are you referring to the LIVE passcode, or the Family Settings passcode? The Family Settings code will not be reset by a recover. If you forgot this passcode you can try answering the security question or calling phone support.
