Family settings on Xbox One for Fortnite & Fifa

I bought an Xbox for my 8 year old son and set up the Xbox using my Outlook account details.

I added two games for him to play, Fifa and Fornite.

I then wanted to use the Family settings, so I set up an account for him.

I want my son to be able to switch on the Xbox and play either game. And I want to use Family settings to limit the time.

The problem I have is that both games are on my account. For him to play Fortnite, my account needs to be logged in. My understanding is that if I switch the Xbox Live Gold subscription to his account, he will lose where he is in the game.

Also, because my account is logged in for Fortnite, my son is playing Fifa on my account. This means I can’t use Family settings to limit the time.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

If you set your Xbox console to "Home Xbox" under your account, you can share your Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription,
share games and downloadable content purchased from Microsoft Store with anyone who signs in on your console. You can even share games downloaded as part of a subscription. You will not have to remain logged into your account
to share these benefits.

Also keep in mind to set up the accounts to ask for a password to make purchases. If you won't do that you child could make a lot of purchases in those games.

Set the console as home console on your account.

That way your account doesn't have to be logged in to let others play your games on your console.

Have you added her to your family account? You can do that and make your console you Home Console. This will allow them to share your Live Gold.

That's how I have mine setup and the kids can access multiplayer just fine for Fortnite

Are they sharing one xbox? We have both accounts logged on one console and we have the family thing set up. I can play other multiplayer games online, but it will not allow me to log into fortnite. Even with her signed out of xbl and my account logged in,
it brings up her fortnite account already logged in. We cant log hers out without unlinking.

thanks so much for your reply! Yes, there don't seem to be any problems with any other games (ie fortnite, fifa) which he will play online and/or cross-platform. When I log into my Microsoft family account there are no restrictions set for him, and when
he logs into his Microsoft account it doesn't show any settings under privacy which are in relation to online or cross-platform play. It's so frustrating!
