Family Settings not working for Fortnite (only)

    Hi,

My two sons both have Xbox Series S and play Fortnite on them. They have child accounts.

I have set up the Family Safety App with them as family members.

I have set time limits on the amount of time they can play Fortnite on the Xbox.

However, it does not work, although it has done in the past.

The app reports that the time limit has been reached, but it does not block the app. Previously (when it was working) they would get a pop up on the Xbox saying that they had 5 minutes left (when they could request more time) and then another pop up at the end (and when access was blocked) again giving the option to ask for more time. None of that happens any more.

Bizarrely, when I have tested it with other games (Roblox and Forza) it works as it is supposed to. It is only Fortnite that it does not work for, which is (of course) the only one which I want to put restrictions on!

Any thoughts? I've asked Microsoft support, but they are just not getting back to me.

    Thanks,

    Richard

    :)

    Please Reach Out To Me.

Only adults may make such changes to their family account, you will have to speak to your parent and see if they change your settings and allow Fortnite.

Thanks for getting back to me.

So i looked at family settings/ his privacy and that was all allow or friends basically, as had some issue with fortnite on his account a while back.

The console is the only console so was already set as "home"

But i noticed that i was set to instant sign-in so switched that off, restarted console , signed him in and not me and seems to have worked.

    Xbox mic not working

It's probably a fortnite issue, the only way to use game chat in fortnite is by going to voice chat in the pause menu and turning it on from there, if that doesn't work you can go to audio settings ingame and disable voice chat then re-enable it. This
has always worked for me but if it doesn't I would report the bug to fortnite.
