Thanks for reaching out to us! If your child is using a child account and has it set to child default, then they would need permission from an adult in their family in order to accept any friend requests that may be sent via Xbox. If you already have their
Xbox Live account set the way you wish, then there should be no issue.

As to any friend requests that may be received in-game (be it Fortnite or any other game) that would be something that you would need to explore concerning their

Epic Games (or other developer) site with their applicable profile for that area to see if there is an additional setting for you to access.

1. How are they able to play certain games eg FIFA21 without logging into their account?

2. How do I force the situation whereby they have to login to their account to play those games?

The issue is not restricting access to games, I know how to do that. Instead there are currently games they can access without signing in to their account, they are effectively playing as a guest. Hence, I cannot restrict them as the ability to restrict is linked to their user name.

If you want to restrict a child's account from accessing certain games, you can try changing the maturity level on their account; which will prohibit them from having access to games above their age.
