    Well it's kind of sad i have to get rid of xbox live after having accounts for almost 9 years. Ever since about 4 or so years ago I haven't had the time to play much on live, but i kept my account up and paid for the family plan for my brother and my girlfriend.
    My brother play daily and my girlfriend will get on every once and a while, but now that the family plan is gone and that it costs more than $50 a year now it's just not worth it for me. Going to be just sticking to my PC and my other consoles from now on.
    It was a good run though, I will always miss the good ole days on halo 2 and 3.

    live membership?

    Currently have Live family plan. XboxOne only need one regular plan for entire family. Will I need to maintain family plan if keeping the 360?

    Upgrading to Gold Family from Gold single

    Here is the FAQ on the Family Plan

    www.xbox.com/.../FamilyPackFAQ

    For every 2 months an account has being added to the Family plan it will add 1 month to the family plan.

    So 13 months would be 6 months on the family plan - Up to 36months can be stacked on the family plan.

    If you were lucky like me and were able to pull off a family plan renewal right before it went was discontinued you would just now be running out of time from your family plan, it was awesome!

    When the program ended all the accounts under a family plan got 3 fee months of gold in addition to whatever was left of the family plan subscription. I had just renewed when they announced the discontinuation and made each family account a separate account
    so I had 4 gamertags with a little over a year of Xbox Live Gold. Just for giggles I went under account options and tried to renew my family plan and they actually let me do it and I was able to regroup the four tags into a family plan again and then they
    were split again and I got another 3 free months in addition to the year I had stuck on there, so three of the old family plan tags are just now about to run out of Xbox Live Gold, it was a great deal/luck out/glitch.

    Family Gold Membership issues

    Hey there Xzeno! I don't believe he will be able to add point cards to his own account. I do believe, however, that as the Primary Account on the Family Plan that you have the ability to redeem or purchase points, and then transfer them to his account.

    Alternatively, he can leave the Family Plan, add the points to his account, and then rejoin the family after 5 days' time. Whichever is more convenient for the both of you. Please let me know if this helps, thanks!
