    Family organizer doesn’t have the account anymore. What can I do?


    My sister was the family organizer for my Microsoft account that I created for Minecraft when I was young now I’m 20 years old and I can’t make purchases by myself by asking for permission, and I can’t even ever get the permission because she doesn’t even have the email anymore. I don’t wanna lose or delete the account because it has all my game progress, achievements, game tag, and all that stuff. What can I do?

Have you tried leaving your current family group and attempting the purchase again to see if that resolves it? If you’ve already tried that and it’s still not working, I recommend setting up a new family group from scratch.

    Here’s how:

    1. If you have an account with adult permissions, sign in and set up a new family group here: https://account.microsoft.com/family.

    2. Once the group is created, invite your main account to join.

    3. After that, use the parent (adult) account to manage your family and adjust the permissions by visiting: https://account.xbox.com/Settings.

    Other option is to reach Xbox Support to check your family group information. To reach Xbox Support, you can reach them at https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us. Additionally, you can use the Virtual Agent at https://support.xbox.com/en-US/virtualagent > Type in Contact Xbox Support > Fill out the necessary information > You'll be provided with contact options. You can choose the option you prefer.

    Can’t leave family

    I do not know who the organizer is. I have had this account a-while ago and I do not know who the organizer is. I would like to leave without the organizers consent. There is no way of me knowing who the family organizer is, so I can not leave.

    I’ve tried going into my privacy settings but they’re all allowing everything to happen and when I recently changed my account to be a family organizer so I can change settings. But whatever I do it doesn’t allow me to purchase the map packs within the game. Even though I have them after buying the Season Pass.

    I live alone and have no direct family members. I purchased my operating system on my account and have a record of the purchase attached to the account. The receipt is in the email that I use to log into my Microsoft account. I cannot remove the "family organizer" with the false account. Only the family organizer can remove themselves or others. At the time of this response I have been on hold with Microsoft support for 1:33:04 with no response besides the initial filter person who said that they were connecting me with support on a other line.

    I'm not sure what else to do besides staying on hold.

    Microsoft family isnt giving me the option to leave, and even when i leave im being placed in a new family.

    Based on the description, you are having issue leaving from a family group. Let us check and see on what we can do to help resolve your concern in a timely manner.

    It is possible that your account is a child account and only the adult who granted consent can remove a child account from the family group. Only organizers of a family group can remove family members. If it places you in the same family, it is because your account is member of the Family group and only organizer of the family can remove you. You have to reach out to parent or organizer of the family.
