    Family of 4 with 2 XBOX's

    Hi Guys,

We are a family of 4 with 2 XBOX's in the house and our whole family has been enjoying Destiny 2. I purchased Destiny 2 and then the 2 expansions Curse of Osiris & Warmind on my XBOX account and the whole family has been able to play on both XBOX's.

One XBOX in my son's room is set as my home XBOX and we have the second XBOX downstairs which we all share.

Now with Forsaken having been released, again I purchased this again via my own XBOX account, however, this time, only I can play Forsaken on the second 'downstairs' XBOX any other family members are asked to purchase Forsaken?

Anyone in our family can play on my son's XBOX however as I’m sure you can imagine it is very inconvenient for multiple family members to play in my son's bedroom!

Please, can someone advise how we can all continue to enjoy Forsaken on either of our 2 XBOX's? Surely Microsoft doesn't expect us to purchase Forsaken 4 times in one household, do they?

    Thanks!

    :)

  2. two x boxes in home

If you have 2 Xbox's you just set them up wherever you want on different TV's and then create an account on both Xbox's and purchase live based on what you want. If you plan on buying a year for both accounts, you can save by purchasing a family pack, which
gives you 4 accounts, best used by having friends pitch in money too, so that way you end up with even more savings.

  3. Xbox Live Gold Family Subscription

I'm an existing Xbox Live Gold customer & have just bought my son an xbox.

So we have 2 xbox's in the house & I'm not sure if the Family Subsciption for Xbox Live Gold can be used across 2 xbox's? Have searched but can't find it anywhere.

I know it covers 4 Gamertags, and I would probably use 2 on each xbox. One for both me & my son on each xbox because we play together a lot.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi there,

a normal setup of the Home console results in every profile can play content on the Home console, which would make what you are experiencing Expected behaviour, if everybody needs to play the same content on all consoles then purchasing the content twice
is required. See this link for information on Home: My Home Xbox Setting on Xbox One | Share Your Xbox One

Side note: as far as I, the know the creator of the content is able to determine if DLC content is shareable or not.

Really doesn't seem fair that we as a household/family can't all play within the home network IP I understand there needs to be some controls to stop ad-hoc sharing of content with friends etc, however same family in the same location we should be able
to play on more than one XBOX in the home as I said its not convenient for multiple family members to play in my son's bedroom! If I make the downstairs XBOX 'home' then my son won't be able to play. Is there not a solution
    to this?

    Hi,

I found a similar thread on the internet with the following suggestion:

    From the internet thread

I had the same exact problem, but another community member helped me fix it, please follow these instructions:

    -hard reset Xbox

-sign in on your main account (the account with the DLC's)

-sign in on the account being shared to

-go to "my games and apps"

    -go to games

    -hover over destiny

    -press start

    -click "manage game"

-go to the "ready to install" tab

-click "install all" or anything that can be installed

This will force install all DLC's to destiny, it may take up to an hour depending on connection, but it should fix your problem

I know this is about destiny 1, but maybe it will work for destiny 2.

  7. If the base game is all working through game sharing, then unfortunately the publisher has made the DLC specific only to the purchaser of the DLC.

Some Publishers are not allowing some DLC to be shared, and they need to be purchased individually.

    Sorry for the bad news.

Thanks for this, it seems to have worked! It seemed that something hadn't downloaded one or 2 small files took a couple of seconds I know one file appeared to be the bonus item Cayde's exotic stash, however, may have been something else as well as Forsaken
didn't show in the list either even though I've been playing it fine. Anyway, after clicking install all others in the family now seem to be able to play on our second XBOX with their accounts without issue.

    Thanks again!!
