“Family” member gets their own account

Could use a hand here community,

    We now own 3 consoles.

So for a couple years my kids have shared our live/ game pass account, but my oldest (19) is moving out :’( - i know he will need his own xbox live/ game pass account, but is there anything i need to do to the old console that is already loaded up with his
    profile?

my plan based on a chat with a xbox frontliner is-

    1. Remove him from our “family” setup

    2. help him sign up for his own Xbl/ game pass ultimate

is it as simple as that?

    thanks folks!

    nick b

    :)

    Family Blunder

The Family membership program ends today. All members in the Family (up to 4) will get their own Gold account today plus an additional 3 months added to the account for free.

    Account settings

Two ways to tell if he is in a family as a child account already.

Sign into his account at account.microsoft.com/family if there is no other family members then he is an adult in his own family.

Sign into his account on the xbox console go into settings and under the account tab go to family settings and go down to manage family members and it will tell you if there are any family members in the family there.

    Xbox play anywhere HELP!

The standard sharing features apply to Xbox Play anywhere, which means, if the Xbox console you're playing on is that family member's "Home Console", then you can play it.

If you want to play it on a PC, it's a bit more complicated.

The family member has to make sure, you are a member of the family on
    https://account.microsoft.com/family
    .

Also, the family member has to have an account on the PC you want to play the game on.

Then you will have to sign in with your own account on your PC and have the family member sign in with their family account on the Windows Store app under your account.

There they can then download and install the Play Anywhere game that you want to play which is on their own account.

    The process on how to
share games and apps within your family on Windows 10 is explained here

    individual gamer tags for kids

    Hi there,

Each child will need their own account in order for them to have their own gamertag. Information on how to do that can be found at https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/Family-Online-Safety/child-accounts/add-family-member-on-xbox-one

Cannot Parent Authorise Child's xbox Account Creation "too many repeated authentication attempts"

Try this part; using your own account, go to account.microsoft.com/family and create a new family group. Invite the child account into that family group as a member.

Then you can control all the settings you need.
