    Hi all.

    After a little help please.

    I've 2 xboxes. home xbox downstairs, and another one in my sons room.

    Up until now, anyone in the family can sign in on the home xbox downstairs without me (xbox live subscription holder) needing to sign in as well. If my son wants to use the xbox live subscription upstairs then i'd need to sign in as well. I needed this the
    other way round!

    the wife has started playing on my profile now so i changed the home xbox to my sons xbox so i didn't need to sign in up their anymore.

    I've done this and checked the sons xbox and it now states it the home xbox. i then signed out, my son logged in but when he tries to play online it comes up saying he needs xbox live.

    it works if i log in as well, but the reason i changed the home xbox's around is so that i didn't have to. Its almost like the home xbox change hasn't taken effect, but the xbox says it has under settings.

    any help much appricatiated?

    It turns out I had the wrong console as my home box. Thanks for the help.

    I have two consoles, one for my daughter and son to share and one for me with my sons profile on it as well. When he tries to sign on to my console it asks him to buy game pass or live gold if I'm not signed in. The console that my daughter has is set
    as the home box.

    as you are the person with Live Gold, sign in on your son's Xbox and set it as your Home Xbox (it may have been reset during an update) then he should be able to play without you needing to be signed in.
