  1. Family member and privacy settings! XBOX ONE

My son wants to purchase online and for this I need to change his privacy settings. He is unable to do this because apparently I am not on his family list. I signed in as myself and tried to add his user to my family, however it says that I have to get an
adult to sign in to be able to add family members... what is this? We tried deleting all users off the system and adding myself first then him to my family list, but nothing works! I want to change his privacy setting, but seems as though this is just some
loop. We have called 3 times and they all seem to say the same thing, seems like no ones knows what their doing. Is my account not an adult one any longer? Because I'm pretty sure that yesterday before he switched from the 360 to XBOXONE he was buying things
    online perfectly fine.

    :)

Add member to Xbox-Family without xbox

    Hi,

I don't have an Xbox. But I need to add my son - who is a member of my Microsoft family - to my Xbox family to be able to change his privacy settings.

(He wants to share his minecraft PE worlds with his friends. He can't, because of the privacy settings. As a minor, he can't access the settings page, himself, and is asked to refer to me. But currently, he doesn't show on my privacy settings page, as he
is not member of my Xbox family. I double checked: he is member of my Microsoft family.)

    Any idea, anyone?

    Thanks!

Changing adults account holder gamertag to be childs

    Hey there!

You can manage your sons privacy and online safety by adding them to your family on Xbox One. You can view more information here:

    support.xbox.com/.../add-family-member-on-xbox-one

Once you've added him, you will be able to control all of his Xbox online and privacy settings.

Let me know if you need anymore help!

    Hi,

Creating a family helps you manage privacy and online safety settings for children and teens on Xbox One, Windows 10, and Windows Phone 10.

Any adult in the family can add new members to the family. To add a family member, follow the steps on this page:

Child account with no parent account

    Hello there,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. In order to manage the privacy settings of a child account, you will have to add an adult account to the family first :

Add members to your Microsoft family

You will need to add this child account to an adult accounts family. you can then follow the instructions on this link to manage the child account's privacy settings :

Xbox One online safety and privacy settings for parents and children

    Hope this helps!

    Hi Nate,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you have question on privacy settings. Unfortunately, you will not be able to adjust these settings on your own accord. You need a parent account to adjust these settings due to your account is considered
a child account. Here are a couple links that will help you.

    1. add family member-- https://support.xbox.com/xbox-one/security/add-family-member-on-xbox-one

Family Settings for Forza Horizon 5

Microsoft considers all accounts below 21 years as child accounts and the privacy settings page in inaccessible for them by default.

To change your privacy settings you'll need a parent/adult account. They'll need to add you to their family group as "Member", then go into that page and enable those settings for you.

The details are outlined here under the "Manage settings on Xbox.com" tab and "Manage a member's online safety and privacy settings" sub-tab.
