Family - Adding Friends

I created a family account for my son in order to limit online time and purchases. I cannot figure out how he can add his friends to play with them. We are Gold subscribers and can add friends to our main account. Does anyone know how I can allow him to
add friends?

Adding Family

Here's my dilemma. I'm trying to add a family member to my gold family pack. Attempting to do so on my console continued to give a an error message, so I tried this here Xbox website. So I go to my account, go to family, and add him. It the prompts me to
sign him in, which I do. It shows me his avatar, and asks if I'd like to add him, and I press "next". He is under age, so it then prompts me to enter the parent account email and pass. I do this and it then prompts me to sign him in again, which I do. It then
asks me if I'd like to add him, so I press "next".... IT THEN ASKS FOR THE PARENT ACCOUNT SIGN IN!!!!!!!! It's an everlasting loop of frustration. My hair is in my hands now, and I'm ready to yank. Can someone help me with this please...STOP THE INSANITY!!!

Adding Family

I tried a different browser but got stuck in the same loop. I'll go to add family, enter his e-mail, sign him in, press 'next' to confirm the action, it prompts me to sign in the parent account, then it prompts me to sign him in again, and I'm back at the
confirmation page. If I confirm it it prompts me to sign in the parent account....ugh.

I haven't tried this in a bit, but I am sure it is still a cumberaome process. I beliebe the only way to allow them to add a friend is to go back in to the settings menu and Privacu & Saftey and then I think Online Safety and allow them to add friends.
You can do this flip it to allow, let them add their friend, then flip it back. I believe you are allowed to have a their friend aend them a request, and then tou can accept it, but it is pretty cludgy.

I would love to see a capability where they could initiate a request, and come back to me to approve it. This has been a long time issue.

PC Game Pass is now available in your friend's region she can at least purchase her own subscription using her own account and then you can play together as long as the game supports online multiplayer wherein she will be playing using her Laptop.

If you will be playing on Xbox and your friend will be playing on her Laptop, the game that you and your friend will be playing needs to support cross-platform gaming.

thank you for the concern, but i managed to sort it with the help of my friend, i just had to remove my account from the family and then have it added to my friends family account as a parent.

because the devs/publishers won't allow it, it will be abused by people adding friends to the family to share.

I just fixed this on my xbox one this morning.

i removed the account, then added it to friends and family, and it signed in right away.
