Family accounts unable to use Game Pass Ultimate when I'm not signed in - single xbox

That appeared to the combination of problems. For some reason my kids were set to Home xbox and I wasn't (I had thought otherwise) and I was set to auto login. My brief test allowed me to login as me on PC and my son as himself on Xbox simultenously. Appreciate the quick response! Curious why the gifted game didn't supersedes my Game Pass Ultimate. Just glad it works.

When you say that "We have one Xbox and it is designated Home Xbox for all of us", does that mean that each account set the console to Home? If so, that could be your problem. Only the account that has the Game Pass Ultimate should set the console to Home. If you set another account to Home, it removes the prior Home account. As long as the account with the subscription sets the console to Home, then all accounts that log into that console can utilize the Gold features. Just make sure that your account isn't set to auto login as that will get signed out once you log in somewhere else.

The possible explanation is that your Microsoft account is added to an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Friends and Family Plan. It is a Microsoft family feature that allows up to five people to share a single Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription. Each person on the plan received unique access to the entire Game Pass Ultimate library across Xbox and PC, EA Play, and other benefits.

You may confirm this by signing your account on account.microsoft.com > then go to Family and check if your account is in a Microsoft family.

NOTE: Microsoft has announced that it will be ending the preview of its Xbox Game Pass Ultimate Friends and Family Plan on August 15.

At home with Xbox One

Put the xbox game pass ultimate under one of their accounts. So for example.. Son#1 has game pass ultimate make his home xbox as the xbox that son#2 uses that way anyone that uses that xbox can use the game pass ultimate without having him sign in since its his home xbox.. what this means is make the xbox one x son#1 home console.. then have son#1 play on the xbox one and have son#2 play on the xbox one X or vice versa.. this is the only way they can both play at the same time using one game pass ultimate account. Because son#1 will have to sign into the xbox one so he can play therefore it wont kick anyone out of the game pass on the xbox one x since thats his home xbox. If theres another way i dont know about it. Because we have 3 xboxs and we can use 2 of them this way at the same time so my son and daughter can both play against each other but unfortunately theres no way to do it on more then 2. It sucks for family's with more then 2 xboxs also sucks when you have more then 2 ppl that want to use the game pass ultimate at the same time. Microsoft needs to change this, my suggestion would be for them to make a family game pass ultimate subscription where you can add your family members up to say 5 or 6 members to your family subscription and they can use game pass ultimate anywhere anytime. That would be nice. But unfortunately this is what we are stuck with for now. Maybe it'll change in the future
