  1. Family Account/Screentime/Fortnight

    Hi All,

My 12-year old son has been using my main Xbox login & username on Fortnight for the past few months. I'm going to apply some screentime restrictions on the Xbox that will require me to create a child account. How do I create a child account while
also allowing him to keep all of his v-bucks, levels, etc that he earned in while playing under my username?

    Thank you in advance!

    :)

That type of content will not be able tk be transferred as it is attached directly to your profile. You can share the game itself using the home xbox setting but will have to give him currency to buy new stuff on the new profile.

On terms of transferring content as you speak of, you might want to actually contact with fortnite support.

If you create a child account for him, it'll be a brand new account. He would have to start over on that account. He could still use your account to play the game, but child restrictions would not be applied to that account.

On Xbox cloud gaming, I want to play Fortnite but it’s saying that I don’t have any screen time. I can’t go on my dads acc either to change settings. He doesn’t restrict me in any way either?

Hi! My name is Ben an Independent advisor and an Xbox Gamer like you. Hope you are doing well!

With regards to this problem, only the parent account can manage the settings of a child's account if your account is somehow registered as a child or member in the Microsoft Family.

When you asked your dad to try and check your screentime, is your device already added to your Microsoft account? Normally there will be an option via https://account.microsoft.com/family on how to connect a device after you choose "Screentime" there is also an option there to choose whether to "Use one schedule on all devices" or you can ask him to opt it out.

I suggest to try asking your or any organizer in your family group to try and manage your account from the family list and if possible to have them remove the screentime or adjust it on your preferred time to play to prevent restrictions.

I hope the information helps. Just let us know if you have further questions and we will do everything with our knowledge to assist you.

    Kind regards,

    Ben
