Family Account - Linking Epic Accounts/Fortnite to Xbox accounts

We have several Xbox accounts linked under our family account. Each of the kids also have Epic Accounts. We've tried to link their Epic Accounts to their Xbox Live accounts, but the first one we tried linked up to the Microsoft Family Account Main Account (mine) instead of their xbox account. They did not use my log in info at all (I watched the whole time). Now Epic only allows us to unlink from my xbox account, but will not allow them to link to another xbox account!

Example of what I am referring to...

    Parent Account A

    Kid Account B

    Kid Account C

(epic) Kid account B tried to link (epic) kid account B to (xbox) kid account B, using all of kid account B log in information.... Epic kid account B was automatically linked to Xbox Parent Account A.

Epic allows Xbox parent account A to be unlinked from epic kid account B, but will no longer allow ANY other xbox account to be linked to epic kid account B.

epic kid account C then tried to link epic kid account c to xbox kid account c, using all of kid account c log in information.... Epic then displayed this error message (see image below):

Family Account - Linking Epic Accounts/Fortnite to Xbox accounts [IMG]

Error message reads: "Sorry, but this xbl account has already been associated with another Epic Games account."

Epic kid account C had never attempted to link to any xbox account prior to this instance.

WHAT ON EARTH IS GOING ON!?

How do I link the kid accounts to the correct xbox account? Epic website claims once an epic account has been linked to an xbox account, they can only be disconnected but can not be connected to a different xbox account... There has to be a way to actually like individual accounts to their respective xbox live accounts! Help.. anyone!?

    :)

Family Account - Linking Epic Accounts/Fortnite to Xbox accounts

    Hello,

Because this is taking place on the Epic Games site, I recommend contacting Epic Game support if you have not already: Epic Games Technical Support & Customer Service | Epic Games. As far as I know there is no way to really edit the linked account status from our end for epic games. Even in the Xbox App, Epic Games is not listed in the linked accounts section:

I would check with Epic games support if there is anything we (Xbox) can do to help you in this situation.

    Best Regards,

Account Link Issues - EPIC / XBOX Live mixed up ?

    Hi Stefan!

Thanks for reaching out to us! When it comes to linking your Xbox Account (GamerTag) to your Fortnite account (Epic Games account), each GamerTag/profile can only link to one Fortnite account. If you are able to sign into Fortnite on your device with your
son's Xbox account and his Epic account and view his progress then that is normal. However, if you'd like to sign into your Xbox account on Fortnite, it would need to correspond with the Epic games account associated with your GamerTag.

If your own GamerTag (Xbox profile) is not linking up with your Epic Games account, then you would need to

contact Epic Games concerning your Fortnite account
directly for assistance in getting those two accounts to link. Just be sure you know the different account log in emails for their site specific to each of you.

    Hope this helps out!

Moving V-Bucks and Challenge Packs to another account

    Hi there,

there is no option to move items etc from one Xbox Live Account to another, but since it's Fortnite related, there might be an alternate solution.

I think the content for Fortnite is linked to the Fortnite account (Epic account) and that can be linked to a different Xbox Live Account.

For example this link shows how to connect a Epic Account to a console account (via the website):

    https://epicgames.helpshift.com/a/epic-accounts/?s=epic-accounts&f=how-do-i-link-my-console-account-to-my-epic-games-account-using-the-web&p=all

Keep in mind to not use the Xbox Live Accounts or Epic Accounts when on a console, since this could result in a new Epic Account being created.

I do advise you to contact Epic Support first so they can confirm the steps to take to make this possible before trying something. The earlier mentioned link has a Contact options.

    Change account to child

    Hi there,

family settings can only be set on Child accounts.

I assume you are going to create a new Xbox Live Account for your son so you are able to set up things like screen time etc.

Unfortunately this also means that any purchases, subscriptions, gamerscore and save games is lost, as in those can't be transferred to a different Xbox Live Account.

But for some games the online progress and skins etc. are not bound to a Xbox Live Account but to a different game/developer specific account. Like for example for Fortnite, any progress and skins are connected to the Epic account and an Epic account can
be connected to a different Xbox Live Account..

If this is indeed related to Fortnite then this link will have the steps to unlink and link an Epic account to a Xbox Live Account
