Family account funds

Kid has Xbox and routinely makes puchases for his Minecraft game. I monitor everything and add money. The other day the account was low do i added $10. He then this to buy something for $4.99. i approved it and was immediately told there was insufficient
funds and suggestef i add $$ even though it wss obvious there was $10.49 in there. I said oh well and added and $10 anf immediately saw the family account balance jump to $20.49. he tried buying again, same thing. Waited a day. Same thing. This just started
happening. How does it get fixed?

In a family group, the primary account can add funds to a child account, but funds cannot be transferred between accounts otherwise.

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are experiencing difficulties with using the currency on your sons' account.

We recommend to request a call from support so they can assist you. This is a known issue and is being investigated currently.

When you go to Contact Us, follow these steps to request a call from support:

Step 1 ----click on Contact us
Step 2 ----under what you having trouble with select Subscriptions & billing
Step 3-----under what is the issue I can't redeem a code then hit next

Step 4 ----scroll down to select request a call

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.

As there is nothing more the forums can do, I will be locking this thread.

Oh i thought you meant rewards points as funds because you said family account. The connection is that in a family account, points are transferrable within family hence "funds". If you're trying to add funds, easiest way to buy giftcard and gift it to them ao they can add it to their account. Otherwise if its just a bank to bank transfer, then you'd have to contact the bank obviously.

Only the main account in the family pack can buy Microsoft points but can then fund them to any other account on the family pack.
