Falsely Reported GT

I have spoken to on of your support advisors and it seems my GT that was 'poonSnoop' was reported for being offensive and I have been issued a forced name change. My GT is now '[Mod Removed]'. I'm wondering if you can review the banned
name as I and the advisor I spoke to don't deem it offensive. I don't think I should pay any money for a GT change to something more suited to me, when I'm in the belief it was changed wrongly in the first place. Please sort this out for me! I'm not a bad

For the record I am not part of the Microsoft staff nor a member of the
Enforcement Team. However, if you feel you are being falsely reported then maybe you are playing with the wrong group of people. This is
not to say you and/or them are doing any thing wrong. But, that some people just don't play well with each other. Yes, it is true that some people will use the reporting tools for
revenge (It's my understanding that the Enforcement Team will deal with them very harshly if they do). However, all of us can take steps to avoid playing online with the wrong people. First,
find and join an
Xbox Club that best fits the way you play and who you are. You can always watch members of a club on
Beam to see if they are going to be a good fit before joining them. Also, if you are having problems with someone, you can always

Block them. And, most importantly, just forget them and move on.... Last and not least, stop the
trash talking, either by text and/or party chat. This only serves to invite more problems.

Falsely reported

The enforcement team does not use the forums and there is no way to submit a case review for 24 hour suspensions. You will have to wait it out.

 

Sorry but the Support Adviser has no say in this situation, all decisions of the Enforcement team are final. And we both know what that term is in reference too. You have agreed to follow the Terms of Use and Code of Conduct to start an account. By violating
those you got a Forced Name Change, if you want your tag changed you will have to pay.

 

That was absolutely an offensive gamertag. So that change is final and will stand. If you'd like a new name, you'll have to pay the $9.99 fee to do so.

 

I am really not seeing how my GT was offensive, much like one of the large YouTube gamers: 'zzirGrizz' his chosen nickname is Grizz, my chosen nickname was Snoop: '[Mod Removed]'. I am honestly not seeing where the offense is coming from...

Well either way it doesn't matter that you don't find it offensive, the enforcement team finds it violates the rules. Your forced name change will stand and if you wish to change it you will have to pay to change it.

 

Your GT is an female anatomy part. Or slang for it. Regardless of how you meant it - this word has heavily abused by a lot of Gamers

 

I agree with axe actor, it does have reference of female anatomy, but having that such gamertag you're referring to snooping, which as you might know the noun for snooping, is investigating something. So I can understand why your gamertag got banned, I just
don't understand why you would post about it on the forum when you should know what we all see in reference to that gamertag, xbox live has the code of conduct and terms of use for a reason, they aren't victimising you because of your gamertag and neither
is this gamertag falsely reported. A lot of gamers use xbox live, and although some may find your gamertag funny, others will find it offensive, and I am also sure if you've played online games you know there are a lot of younger gamers too, and some of them
may be supervised when they go online. Last thing microsoft wants is to have a call centre flooded with angry parents. Why can't you just pick a gamertag that isn't vulgar and obscene? You don't have to try so hard for a laugh via a gamertag, tell a joke to
your friends or the people you meet, not cry out for attention. It is no wonder that gamertag got force changed.

Any gamertags that have been deemed inappropriate will be changed without warning, and Microsoft
does not have to notify you of any changes.

All the replies here are accurate but they have all been missing one vital piece of information. In order to get an 'Official' answer from the PET (Policy Enforcement Team) who enacted your tag change you will need to post in the suspensions forums. They
will not give you the name back but at least they'll tell you why they changed it.
