False reporting that results in banning.

I am just frustrated with the Enforcement Team believing everything thrown at them. I have changed my Gamertag just to prevent this turd from reporting me once again. This kid was mad because I joined his game towards the end and ended up doing better than
him. He claimed he was reporting me and that he was gonna lie just to get me banned. I am 100% certain this is who is doing it. Another thing is that the questions when filing a case review are inconsistent. My second time going through it I had a question
that asked if it was alright to give my email to other players. I answered yes thinking it would be alright to make friends; I was wrong. My third and last time before being penalized 24 hours, I had one asking if was alright to give other player my email
and phone number. I answered false because of what I learned from the last time. I was wrong and it literally said it was alright to make friends and give them contact info, exactly what I was thinking the first time. I am infuriated with the seemingly no
F's given by Microsoft with my scenario. I know this sounds like a **** story but one of my friends recently committed suicide and we are all feeling down. The last thing I expected is to be cut from my friends like this. If you don't believe me I can send
a link personally, as I don't want to just throw his info out there like that. Lifting this ban would help me emotionally as I really need to talk with my friends. I really don't want to wait a week just because of some kid who got butt-hurt about me doing
better than him.

So false reports get you banned for a year because another player want to be a jerk?? And the enforcement people are non existent and Xbox won't do anything about it?? I can understand a month but a year is beyond ridiculous

No. False reports can actually result in the person making said report being suspended/banned. Most reports are reviewed by an actual person before a ban/suspension is given. The exception to this is for messages that contain profanity. Those can be caught by the profanity filter and once reported can result in an automatic suspension for profanity.

That means in the majority of cases your suspension was actually reviewed twice. Once for the initial report before being banned/suspended and a second time for the case review. If they denied the review than that means in both cases they decided you did something wrong.

If you retaliated against the other person for instance that can result in you being suspended.

You shouldn't have anything to worry about here. All reports are looked at by real people, the system is not automated. Only things that break the Code of Conduct can result in a ban, false reports do not end in suspensions. Be careful though, too many
false reports and your own account can have a temporary suspension. Only report users who actually break the rules.

As people already posted naming and shaming violates the forum rules and can result in you being issued a suspension or ban from using the forums.. also reports DO work but you need to realize. For every valid report there are hundreds of false reports and
they need to investigate each of these reports because people feel the need to report someone falsely just because they beat them or they don't like the person. Yes it does take time but the reports do in fact get handled.
