False Parental Control Restriction?

Up until today, I have been able to play on Xbox 360 w/ Xbox Live Silver with no issues (minus strikes, raids, Crucible, etc.). Today, though, I keep getting a generic "Parental Controls: You must have access to online multiplayer gameplay in order to play
Destiny" message. Again, no parental controls or set or anything, but I can't play nonetheless. Anyone experiencing something similar? Bungie says that nothing has changed on their end.

Phone Support. They will be able to help you reset the parental controls.

That is completely false. As stated several times you could have made sure the controller was out of his reach. Any parent whom thinks a child will not cause/get into some sort of mischief when left unsupervised is just fooling
themselves into a false sense of security. That and the console itself has Parental Controls on it as well as account controls to prevent unauthorized access of your account.

 

Im in the EXACT same position. (silver membership, x360, parental control BS) if you find a solution please let me know and i will erect a shrine in your honor.

 

Contrary to what Bungie says, something absolutely changed last night. I also have a silver account and have been playing Destiny since December 2014 and logged countless hours on the game to achieve level 31 without playing Crucible, strikes, raids, nightfall
and all the other options without having a Gold account. If Bungie is requjiring Gold now to play they should just say that rather than having customers of their software going on wild goose chases trying to fix something because of a bogus error message.
I used to hold Bungie in high regard but this sort of thing can sure ruin things.

 

Same thing s has happened to me today. Played last night with no problems. Silver account only and has been like that since January when I got the *** game. Suddenly today, no access with the stupid "Parental Control" message. There' never been any requirement
to have Gold to play the campaign, only that you are online. Well I am bloody online still and if I'm gonna be shut out of the game now, I want my money back!

 

Alright, so I heard from Bungie and they're admitting that it's an issue on their end. Probably something with the HoW update I imagine. They said they're investigating the issue and will fix it ASAP.

 

Same problem. Oddly enough, I share an XBox with my three sons (who all have Gold) and they are able to play with no "Parental Control" message. I did the small Destiny update today before it stopped letting me play. Once my son logged-in there was an additional
1.92 GB update in preparation for the House of Wolves DLC. Hopefully after this download it will update access for all users on my XBox. I'll let you guys know if this fixes the problem.

 

I tweeted the problem to @Bungie and listed this thread. Everyone experiencing this problem should tweet to them too.

Nothing will make them fix it faster than bad publicity.

Hey guys (and gals) as promised I'm giving you guys an update. Just as I thought, after allowing my son who has Gold to log in and download the major update (1.92 GB), I was granted access to the game again (I only have a Silver account). This really sucks
if you don't share your XBox with a Gold member, but it at least gives us an idea of what to tell the folks at Bungie. Good luck everyone.

 

I am experiencing the same *** and i tried so much to resolve it buttt naaah. nothing worked.

 

Yup, king jay is correct. I had a free gold month code I applied to my account. Game works fine now. This makes me sad. It's like the bungie team thinks they'll never have another solid game design except halo so they're gauging customer's hard earned cash
now while they can. Or something. I really wouldn't mind about buying a gold membership. Other than the fact that live &/or destiny servers are constantly going offline... Cheers y'all

Does this mean everybody that has bought the game need to buy a gold subscription with they dont have it? Or should the game work without it like before and just need to buy the game?
