i have until today not experience any issues with the one but today i got off work and got home and watched last nights episode of got on hbo go and right after it ended my xbox shut off. i restarted it and it had an overheating message and it shut off
again. it cant be in a better place as far as ventalation and both the console and power supply dont really feel too hot. i have done all of the troubleshooting steps i can. i guess i will be sending an xbox in for repair once again and of corse it couldnt
even make it through a year.

Can I cover my Xbox One in energy-saving power mode?

Also once the console has shut down make sure you unplug it from the mains power.

This will prevent accidental switch ons. If the console was switched on accidentally while covered it will overheat

Power supply red light/Xbox Slim shutting down

I have purchased another power supply because the other would overheat and shut the console down and would have a solid red light. But the thing is that the new power supply i bought did the same thing. It might be the xbox. Both power supplies get extremely
hot and shut the console down.

The overheat issue can occur for different reasons including the failure of the fan or the presence of a heat source, such as a radiator, heat register, stove, or amplifier. Very hot heat sources can damage the console.

is the console well ventilated, the consoke will shut down wheb it overheats to protect the hard drive

I know you said it's well ventilated but go ahead have a look at the link below. Is the Xbox sitting on top of something else, or is something sitting on the Xbox? Also move the power supply to a well ventilated place if it is not already. It does have built
in fans, but it can overheat as well.

If your console consistently shuts down automatically due to ventilation problems, even after the console is free from clutter and no vents are obstructed, your console will need service.

You can request a repair
from the Xbox Online Service Center. Console registration is required to service your console.
