False or dummy Gamertag

Been been contacted by a Gamertag from someone we dont not know. Txt message has abuse in it. We have now blocked the gamertag now & reported. Is there anyway the Gamertag can be traced as we guess it is a false dummy account.

unlink Windows live ID & Gamertag

Hi Jaguar!

Unfortunately you cannot unlink accounts - what is recommended here is to make a third "dummy" account, and use it to move your profile as follows:

"Old" Email

"New" Email

"Dummy" Email.

Move your gamertag from "New" Email to "Dummy" Email. Then move your gamertag from "Old" Email to "New" Email. At this point you can then just trash Dummy email, and your new email will have your old gamertag

GAMERTAG D... WANT or DUMMY..... MICROSOFT ACCOUNT ADDRESSE 4... password

GAMERTAG E... WANT or DUMMY..... MICROSOFT ACCOUNT ADDRESSE 5... password

http://xbox.com, & see what gamertag shows in orange at top right.

That's a very reasonable hypothesis.

Once you have built the list, then determine which accounts you want to keep and which are discardable.



Then, go to the first keeper, sign in with it at
http://account.live.com and pick Rename Account. Change it to an address you create on the spot at live.com or hotmail.com and add that at the right side of the list. Repeat for each keeper, ignore the dummies.



In 30 days from now, then you can repeat the procedure, changing all the keepers to the email addresse you wish to use for them. That 'speed bump' is designed to make life difficult for the Junior Hackers League of North America, and is imposed by
the Microsoft Accounts folks, not Xbox LIVE.

By reporting the gamertag in question you have fulfilled your duty as concerned xbox live member and by blocking it you have made sure this gamertag will not harass you anymore.
