False Advertising or Just Getting Your Attention?

First off all I am not trying to hate on anything. I love my XBOX ONE since the day I bought it. But on the "Latest System Update" Panel/Advert (I not sure what it's really called) it shows an avatar where 3-D Glasses (the red/blue old school ones)
which kind of made me think that May's update would come with 3D capabilities however there is nothing on XBOX site about 3D... unless I missed it.




So is this a case of false adverting or a good way to catch your eye to update your system?

Better Business Bureau & False Advertisement

What is the legal definition of false advertising? Or the elements required to prove false advertising? Just so we can differentiate between that and normal advertising, which is always to some extent false and misleading.

I would either expect my $ back or some form of compensation for the ERROR of MS getting me to buy something that was clearly FALSE ADVERTISING!!

 

Blue Ray 3-D playback is already available I believe...or do you mean 3-D games? Also, an avatar does not imply anything, how can it be "false advertising"?

 

The ONLY false advertising I've seen with the One appears consistently on the home screen of the console itself. It'll show an image of a game and say something along the lines of "great deals" - I look at the image and think "ooh, a great deal for Alien
Isolation!" (for example) only to click the image and find that there's no sale for that specific game at that time. I think they should only use images for things that are actually on sale because I hate being mislead like that.

 

How is it false advertising if it does not say anything about 3-D ? There could be a picture of a football on there but that does not mean it takes you to anything related to football.

 

You may just be overthinking things a little too hard it seems.
