False Advertisement by 343 Industries?

My son and I have played Halo since it's first game. It's become a tradition for split screen play. He bought it for my birthday. We loaded the game ready to go once again and lo and behold -----NO SPLIT SCREEN! All advertisement verbage/jargon remained
the same as previous years so we had no reason to think the tradition of Halo would change. It felt very deceptive and a common move by commercial entities to force a purchase with no way to return it. The game itself is awesome. We just felt betrayed as
long time loyal customers. Anyone agree or disagree?

I got snookered also. I heard 4 player ss was gone but at least they would have 2 player ss. I didn't think they would get rid of it all together. They can still put it in if enough people complain. Don't even worry about fanboy, even he says we're not meant
to understand him.

Same here, 5 seconds of my life researching before I purchased.

 

this was talked about in many forums and game sites! a little research before your purchase would have told you this!

 

Like he said, next time before you even waste your money, do some research first.

 

There have been no false advertising at all regarding split screen.

It's been well publicised on various websites, forums and twitter that there is no split screen.

 

Yea, guess I learned. The thing is we saw "co-op" everywhere. There was no reason to think it meant something else according to the tradition of the game..? Still think its a cool game though! Thanks

 

I disagree. They hype this game (like many others, latest Gears, and release garbage. Why should someone who already DID research early on have to go back a second or THIRD time to find out if promised features were yanked out because 343 couldn't cut it?
BS. I have been all over blogs and reviews today and there is a great deal lacking. The game has an 85 metascore despite so many of them saying it is only because of the multiplayer, singleplayer is a let down. It is bait and switch. They know perfectly well
the percentage of people who will pre-order and never cancel despite features people want being yanked out. MS match making has been crap since the original xbox.

 

Nowadays when I hear the word co-op I always assume it means online co-op but I can see why you may have thought split screen.

DARKWOLVEN69 they have said already they wont be patching in split screen or anything like that for Halo 5, but since there is such backlash from the community they are already looking into putting it into Halo 6 whenever that will be released..

 

Like the others said, it was never stated there would be split screen.. so yeah, no false advertisement there.

I DO agree however, that it is a pity local co-op was not included in this game. With the new team feature, it would have made it so much more fun. Missed opportunity there, but they were so insistent that it would affect the desired frame rate they decided
against it. Like BigDaddyxBrock said, it is supposed to make a come back in the future after the backlash.

 

Totally Agree, I can not even get mine to work and no help from anybody, customer service, Microsoft need a dictionary to understand what that means, I am so gutted and $700 out of pocket.

I guess it is just me but I could never play split screen. It was too hard for me to concentrate on what was happening on my side of the screen because of what was happening on the other side of the screen.
