False Advertisement by 343 Industries?

Im a dad. My son and I have been playing Halo for the past 6 years split screen. He bought the game for my birthday and we were both super excited to play only to find out the game is no longer split screen. There is no way to return the game now..how
were we supposed to know? Sure we wouldn't expect a new game to be splitscreen in next gen, however, the tradition of Halo is splitscreen. We feel it was very misleading by 343 Industries to use the same verbage for past games and assume we would know gameplay
was going to be changed. Its not necessarily a matter of right or wrong but a matter of ethics towards loyal customers. Anyone agree or Disagree?

I don't know every person's situation either, but it doesn't take that kind of knowledge to use common sense.

to post a repeating comment over and over again is going to silence every fan that want to discuss it.. its to big, its not one fan

I pointed something out in another thread... I even counted and posted links to at least 4 additional threads, this being one of them (at that time, there's even more now) in this
forum alone... all complaining about no split screen. So I'll say it again.

If people were here to "discuss it", they should at minimum, look for a thread that "discusses it" and post there. You don't have to look far to find one. But many don't. All they
do is come into this forum, some in a rage, ranting, throwing insults at 343, claiming how they've ruined the Halo experience and worse. That many threads, all over no split screen is the very epitome of 'repeating comments over and over again' and the fact
that they don't have the consideration to even bother looking for an already existing thread to post in speaks volumes.

So, are you getting sick of seeing this "repeating comment over and over again" from BigDaddy and maybe a few others? Well, considering how many of these split screen compliant
threads there are... now you know how some of the forum regulars feel.

Exactly what verbiage misled you? Do yourself a favor next time and teach your family how to look up info about games before they buy them. The details of the game have been know for months. Suck it up and lose the sense of entitlement. 343 owes us nothing
more than what they put out. It's our responsibility as costumers to know what we are paying for.

 

Actually genius, they owe us EVERYTHING. We are the ones who will continue (or kill) the franchise. It was said early on it 100% would have split screen. Someone in a game store even said that to me a month ago. I am so glad I didn't waste money on a pre-order.
I used to buy everything ahead if time but MS is releasing games with broken content and broken promises. How about you grow a pair and EXPECT them to give you a good solid woking game with the features they promised. Maybe you don't work with big companies
and large software vendors. I do. A company comes into my place of business and promises the moon then gives me a bucket of sand; they will never be back. Period. Breach of contract. In this instance there is an unwritten breach as there was an extended assumption
for over a year that there would be split screen because they SAID it would have it. Fanboy.

 

Its not on the package, regardless what someone told you. First mistake is trusting the low pay kids at a game store. Its not listed as a feature so there is no reason to cry or be concerned about false advertising.

 

Except they had release information with split screen.

 

This is exactly what happened to us. My Son begged to be able to get Halo five I have all the Halo Franchise Games he knew that the campaign didn't have split screen but said we could still do multiplier. I was hesitant to get the game because I did not
like Destiny because we couldn't play the game together. We decided to get it because we thought multiplayer was still split screen. Today we had two of his friends over we finished downloading and to our Major Dissapointment found out this is a game that
wants to exclude parents and children not included. I want a refund. Have not even played the game.

 

it was announced a month ago that it was dropped.

 

Obviously missed the announcement they should have put in bold letters not splits screen but when you are downloading a game that always has split screen you expect it to have it.

 

We have been faithful xbox users and halo players. Always played as a family, split screen. Now we have to have another console just to play together in the same house?! Are you joking?! What a scam!! And don't be fooled for a moment that they didn't know
what they were doing; it's Ridiculous.

It's all about Microsoft making more money & control! Huge disappointment!! Xbox has been nothing but a nightmare since Microsoft has bought it. Can't just sit down and simply play a game...here, buy this dlc...here, buy this membership...here, here, here...

Again, they spent over $100 million on this new halo game and couldn't add split screen? Yeah, I'm not convinced. But they sure fooled a ton of us shmucks into thinking they would keep the stasis quo, didn't they?

Guess it's too much to ask that a family should be able to enjoy a game together without spending a fortune on consoles and then playing "together" in separate rooms

Article is from FIVE months ago. @Bad Monkey: Fanboy? I buy all types of games, and i fully understand what i'm spending my money on when i do. Never considered myself to be a true fan of any franchise, so i won't even respond to the "fanboy" comment.
OH, and i really don't give a crap what you do for a living. Can't be too smart if you couldn't research something to find out the details. Took me 2 secs to find that article. I'm sure we all know how to search things at this point in our lives.

 

Same here, 5 seconds of my life researching before I purchased.

 

Regardless of when it was announced, the fact that it doesn't have couch co-op is still a terrible move for a franchise that included it for so long. Still a disappointment overall. Would like to play with the wife and kids...

 

I got snookered also. I heard 4 player ss was gone but at least they would have 2 player ss. I didn't think they would get rid of it all together. They can still put it in if enough people complain. Don't even worry about fanboy, even he says we're not meant
to understand him.
