Fallout New Vegas Xbox One hangs on cloud synch

Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Ed on Xbox One is hanging on startup when it is trying to synch cloud storage (it isn't the infinite load problem or corrupt autosave game problem, I know how to fix those).

I've tried all the suggested fixes including starting up offline - that allows me to start a new game, but it won't save and the moment I go back online the 'Synching cloud storage' white box comes up and it just hangs on the loading circle. If I bring up
the Xbox 360 console to manage storage, it also just hangs on the white box.

I've cleared local save games, done a complete reinstall, cleared the cache etc and still no joy. I know it is as buggy as anything, but I'll be a bit fed up if I've lost all my many hours of progress. As it stands it is unplayable, so any suggestions welcome.

So, it looks like none of the game saves for the past few days have been synching, which isn't exactly great. I've fired up my ancient Xbox 360 and installed it on there and luckily there were still a few save games left in the cloud so I've downloaded those
and started from there. I've still lost seventeen hours play and two big missions, so not a happy bunny.

I'll give up playing this on Xbox One and just hope my old Xbox 360 lasts the course instead.

^Yea Fallout has a 2.2GB update itself and I had a nightmare synching my saves from the Cloud to my new console. Kept failing at 99% spent best part of Monday afternoon trying to sort it out. Gave up in the end, then decided to give it one more go
and it synched first time in about 40 seconds!

I also started up fallout new vegas and all my saves are still gone. It says my cloud saved games are empty

Synching Data for Fallout 4

I suspect this is not just for Fallout 4. On a wired internet. Purchased a second xBox One to coop with kid (surprise surprise...no coop.) Had started the game on the other console. The new console takes forever to synch and has failed multiple times,
although I've not actually seen it give me the final error message.

I'm on hour 2 right now attempting this synch, having tried all of the fixes I could find on the internet. I think the slow synching issue is still present.
