Fallout new vegas ultimate edition not allowing me to install both discs.

Im currently playing on an xbox one x. Ive had trouble installing the dlc before but always managed to do so eventually but this time I am only able to install the information from one disc at a time. I first tried installing from disc 1 then disc 2 which
previously worked as it meant installing the main game then the dlc afterwards however this time that did nothing. So I then tried to install them backwards thinking that with only the dlc installed the main game wouldnt start, but instead of making me install
the main game from disc one it acted like it had already been installed so but whenever I tried to start it up it would give me an error code (as technically the main game wasnt actually installed). Then I tried installing the first disc, restarting my xbox
once it did so and then installing the dlc but this just ended up the same way as the first option. At this point ive got no idea how to sort it out (watched a few videos from varying times and read a few forum questions and answers and none of them that I
saw had any different solutions). Would be grateful for any help in advance.

Try installing the game from the DLC disc instead of the Game disc. If I remember correctly, that was the way to get the DLC for the Game of the Year edition of Fallout 3 and the Ultimate Edition of Fallout New Vegas. You will need to uninstall the games first.

Which disc are you using to install the content onto your console? You'll want o install from Disc 2 as opposed to Disc 1, if you are using the Ultimate edition of Fallout New Vegas.

Thanks very much for the response it turned out the factory reset and installing everything from the second disc worked. Seems the game wasnt actually installed before the reset but was acting as if it was preventing me starting up the game or from actually
installing it.

You may want to contact customer support/technical support as they'd be able to 100 percent tell you what to do, as I haven't personally had this issue with my copy of New Vegas (with the DLC disc.) https://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us
