Open Task manager > click on the startup tab > disable everything there temporarily > restart your PC and try opening the game to see how it goes

If the issue persists, may I know your hardware specs?
Do you have both discrete and dedicated graphics cards or only a dedicated?

And, please attach an screenshot about the explorer.exe message, that would be very helpful (don't forget to hide any personal info)

I see, it would be hard to find what's exactly failing with your main account

Probably a program in the background is the one causing the issue.

If you want you can try uninstalling third party programs, one by one and testing as soon as you uninstall one.

The other option (I think would be better) is use the other account just to play these two games

Hello, it also happens on Skyrim every now and then and I'm on windows 11. This is the first time I've played New Vegas. So far I've done a scan using cmd prompt another post recommended but only helped for a few minute before it started again.

I tried that and it seemed to work but it appeared again over and over
