Fallout New Vegas Backward Compatibility

I noticed on the backward compatibility lists that Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas were available titles, so I purchased disc versions of both and installed them.

I had no issues with Fallout 3 (though the audio is slightly crackly on the game start screen).

With Fallout New Vegas however, I cannot use the DLC that came with the discs. When I check for available content I get taken to the microsoft store where it lists the DLC with dollar values.

Note that I am using "Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition" (VFD 61576) and that includes all the DLC on the disc, nothing required to purchase.

I installed the GOTY edition of Fallout 3 and it had all of its DLC present and working and never took me to the microsoft store and asked for money.

How do I access the DLC that I purchased when I purchased the game please? I do not consider repurchasing the DLC from the microsoft store to be an acceptable solution.

Fallout NV DLCs

I have Fallout New Vegas on the 360, and want to play it with backwards compatibility. The game works fine, but for some reason I can't get my DLCs (I had all of them) they don't show up anywhere and I can't download them. Thing is, I have fallout 3 as well
and all the DLC are there, and I can play them fine. Why won't they show up for New Vegas too? I would love to play New Vegas with my DLCs.

 

Fallout New Vegas Keeps Freezing

Fallout New Vegas Backwards Compatibility on Xbox One keeps freezing for me it's unplayable as everytime I try to enter another area it freezes and loops the audio extremely loudly, I've reset my Xbox many times and even reinstalled it

Have you checked the "Ready to install" section on your console?

Just go to "My Games & Apps" highlight Fallout: New Vegas and press your menu button. From there select "Manage Game" there you should find any pending DLC available to install.

Let us know if it works.

 

Already tried the above, no DLC waiting there.

Thanks for letting us know. So does your console recognise both discs and install them without error messages?

 

The XBOX One never asked for both discs. I did put the second disc in to see if it would trigger the DLC to download/activate, it had no effect.

This wasn't an issue with Fallout 3 GOTY, just inserted the disc, the XBOX One downloaded the backward compatible version and the DLC that came with the game was already there and ready to go. Didn't need to insert the second disc or anything.

 

Some further information.

I installed the game on my XBOX 360 to see what was supposed to happen.

On XBOX 360 you still get the same microsoft store wanting money for the DLC if you only install and play disc 1.

On XBOX 360 if you insert disc 2 it lets you run the expansion installer.

On XBOX One inserting disc 2 simply sets the game running, exactly as if you had inserted disc one, with no option to run the expansion installer.

 

I have this similar issue occuring right now, and i'm trying to find solutions for it beside repurchasing the DLCs for an solution... Please help
