Fallout new **** dlc from disc not working with. digital version of game on Xbox one

so I decided to get the digital version of fallout NV on my Xbox one and borrowed disc 2 from the ultimate edition from a friend to install the dlc all the dlc says it's installed however when I go to boot up the digital version of the game it's says
there is no dlc from the game why is that and how do you get it to work ??

Fallout 3 non-GOTY retail disc DLC downloaded but not recognized

The Known Experience Concerns states that the retail non-GOTY DLC discs should work if I have the digital version of Fallout 3, which I do.

"Fallout 3: You will only be able to play disc based DLC for Fallout 3 if you also own the digital version of the game. Disc based DLC includes the Broken Steel and Point Lookout disc and the Operation Anchorage and The Pitt disc. This restriction
does not apply to the Game of the Year Edition."

So in my case, it should work but does not. The DLCs are downloaded but not recognized when they should be.

Fallout New Vegas Backward Compatibility

I noticed on the backward compatibility lists that Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas were available titles, so I purchased disc versions of both and installed them.

I had no issues with Fallout 3 (though the audio is slightly crackly on the game start screen).

With Fallout New Vegas however, I cannot use the DLC that came with the discs. When I check for available content I get taken to the microsoft store where it lists the DLC with dollar values.

Note that I am using "Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition" (VFD 61576) and that includes all the DLC on the disc, nothing required to purchase.

I installed the GOTY edition of Fallout 3 and it had all of its DLC present and working and never took me to the microsoft store and asked for money.

How do I access the DLC that I purchased when I purchased the game please? I do not consider repurchasing the DLC from the microsoft store to be an acceptable solution.

Sorry to hear it. As you did not actually purchase the DLC the only way it will work (if it will work for the digital download) is if the disc is present in your console while you play.

Sorry to hear it. When you have a compilation disc such as the ultimate version the DLC usually only works with that version of the game. If you would like to play the DLC with the new version you purchased you'll need to purchase the content digitally.

The DLCs are available online on the Microsoft Store on the Xbox One, so you should be good to buy them digitally and they should work. You don't need the disc version of those DLCs because the games are available on the Xbox One through the Xbox One's
Backwards Compatibility program, so the games and its DLCs are up for purchase. I think where you may have gotten confused about needing the discs is that often people who have the DLC discs from the GOTY versions of those games have had a lot of problems
getting them installed on the Xbox One. But, if you've got no disc, then you should have no problem.

How do I get rid of the game pass version (Fallout New Vegas, if it matters) so that I can play from disc and access the DLC? The DLC is installed, but game shows "Game Pass" on launch screen and only sends me to store for DLC.

DLC is on disc 2, so by rebooting xbox and putting in disc 2 I was able to install DLC. I just can't access it.

Because of how Xbox Game Pass works, you have to reinstall the game due to the licensing trying to use the Game Pass version which acts as the definitive version.

Go to My Games & Apps, highlight Fallout New Vegas, press menu (the button with 3 lines) and go to Manage game & add-ons.

Once you are at this screen, highlight Fallout New Vegas again, and press Menu once again, the select Uninstall. This will uninstall the game pass version and you will be able to install from a disc once you do this process. Your DLC will be safe.

If you read the issues with Fallout 3 back compat, only the standard version did not work with the DLC. You need to insert the disc with the dlc in, and that should install the game and the dlc as well.
