Fallout 76 PC Game Pass performance - struggling to get to 60 fps.

Hi,

Firstly I know Game Pass on PC is a 'Beta' so please don't use that as a generic reply. And remember this is a
PC question, so if you don't reply with Xbox fixes or reply with uninstall and reinstall answers.

So yesterday I tried Fallout 76 Wastelanders on PC. First problem, it doesn't seem to like running on any drive other than C:\, so if you have a small SSD, for now it won't work. At least this is my experience with it. Thankfully I have a large SSD with
my OS on, so I could install to C:\ drive. But, I had to move it to the C:\ drive in order to get it to work!

The biggest problem is performance. Yet again, this is another poorly ported Xbox One game, modified by the Game Pass team to run on PC with PC settings. But fundamentally underneath it all it's an Xbox One game with an unlocked frame rate cap.

You may not know this, but the 'Beta' has nothing to do with the App. The Xbox App doesn't download anything, all downloads are completed via the Windows Store. This program is in Beta due to the way the games are ported across.

My problem is trying to get that all important 60 fps. I'm running an i7 8700, 16GB RAM and an RTX 2080. I've seen bench-marking videos on YouTube of the proper PC version (Steam or Bethesda launcher) running at over 100 fps on an GTX 1080, which is a generation
behind mine!

Now I'm not expecting many responses here, I was just wondering how many of you fellow PC Game Pass users have tried Fallout 76 and how it ran for you?

i found this fix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0ovpNbT7Io but a consumer shouldn't have to go through files and change things in the game's files in order to be able to play the game...

lots of games seem to be having the low fps and performance issues. I have now given up with gamepass on pc and get my games elsewhere as it more trouble than its worth.

games i own like sea of thieves i still use as that is not affected but anything from gamepass lately is trash and i cancelled the sub.

Same here.

I was going to keep it going just for Flight Simulator, but I might buy that instead, and even then my purchase of that game may be swayed on whether it comes out on Steam or not.

No issues performance wise with the first party games. Gears 4 and 5 and the Forza Games all run beautifully. Even then, there is still the problem with the way Microsoft insists on installing everything through encrypted folders with no ability to back
them up or move them between machines.

Just a pain. They need to do better.

I too, have this problem. I only have a GTX 1650 but I'm supposed to be getting 60 fps on high settings. But on the game pass for pc, I can barely even play the game on the lowest, around 20 on avg because it lags
so bad. I notice the program is actually called Project76? Is it just for the Game Pass PC or does it do that on Steam or Bethesda launcher?
