That is not a Fix, that is a workaround. In modern age gaming, with multiple harddrives and extremely large games. Installing on any drive, should be accounted for in development. This is poor on Bethesda and Microsoft both.

You need to install the game on the hard drive where your system is running. That fixed the problem for me.

You guys really need to understand your users. Many gamers use a small size SSD to install their OS on (Drive C and because of the large size of games, install them on a secondary traditional hard drive (Drive D. It's totally unclear to me why this
was never taken into consideration, it's annoying and simply bad customer service.

You cannot expect Microsoft or Xbox to provide support for every game out there. If a game does not work then it is up to the developer or publisher to fix it. Microsoft only scans game files to make sure there is no virus before it is made public on the
Microsoft Store.

You will have to wait until Bethesda releases a fix. There are three workarounds that may (or may not) work.

Run the game in Admin mode (this is the one Bethesda recommends)

The most successful one is moving the game to the boot drive (normally C drive)

If this is not possible you could try this:

1. Go to the directory the game is installed on such as A:\Program Files\ModifiableWindowsApps\Fallout 76
2. Copy the Project76.ini file to C:\Username\Documents\My Games\Fallout 76 and paste it there
3. Change it to Read Only

Note: if you cannot move the file due to restrictions please enable mods in the Xbox app. To do this go to the Fallout 76 page in the app then press the 3 dots next to Play button then press enable mods.
