Fallout 76 audio drops upon loading in

I have been having an issue with Fallout 76's audio.

Everytime I am on the main menu, the music/sound is fine. As soon as I load into a world, the sound is fine for a few seconds, then drops like someone decreased the volume.

I am playing with maxed sound settings, and my receiver is set to 28 while I am on any other game. Just to hear dialogue in 76, I have to crank it up to 48... 54 on any other game and you get police showing up asking about a gunshot (true story, was a stuck
volume button on remote).

IMPORTANT STUFF:

> Using a surround sound system and receiver via hdmi cable.

> Upon plugging in a headset, it fixes the audio. Headset only voice chat compatible. Never plugged in unless socializing.

> Fixes briefly when switching chat channels.

> Been running in circles for a week with Bethesda, finally they said to contact Xbox, hence I'm here...

> Tried restart, exiting, clearing cache and save data, tried going into Xbox settings.

Any fixes or workarounds?

Fixed the issue. Useless bethesda support couldn't give me a straight answer in over a week, come here and fix in under 2 days.

I was having this same exact issue when I was playing DayZ. It seemed to be fine at first, but loading into the game the sound would drop a bit. Enough to notice.

Here's what I did to fix it and I hope it helps you.

-Hit the Xbox Guide button on your controller and scroll over to the Profile & System tab

-Open Settings

-On the General section scroll over to "Volume & Audio Output" and open it

-Under "Volume Options" hit A on Chat Mixer to open it up.

-Change the setting to "Do Nothing"

This is what fixed this issue for me. For some reason mine got changed to "Reduce the volume of other sounds by 50%".

If that doesn't work there are a handful of other audio settings you can play around with in that are of the settings. See if you can get something to work.

Thanks for the reply.

When switching between chat modes, it fixes the issue for a second or two, then back to lower.

Even tried unsyncing my headset from the controller/profile. No fix.

Since the headset being plugged in fixes this, it sounds like the game is lowering it's volume for the ability to hear others in game chat easier. In the options in-game, I have my chat set to no one, maybe
this will fix this issue for you?
