    Fallout 4's Fallout 3 pre-order code doesn't work


    Pretty much as the title says. I've had F4 pre-ordered for months, and got a message from Xbox Live with a code that I could redeem for Fallout 3. When I tried to do it, it said the code had already been used.

    How do I get a working code and how did the 1 I was just sent for a digital purchase already used?

    I'm thinking you might have to wait until the 12th the the backwards compatibility update drops.

    I'll try and find the tweet again but I did read the codes wouldn't work until the new update/BC rolls out for everyone.

    Well, good thing I don't delete the XBL messages then... Fallout 4's Fallout 3 pre-order code doesn't work ;)

    ...and yes, please find that Tweet for me - it'll give me proof and peace of mind, especially since I won't be able to get F3 via BC any other way, since I owned the game on disc and no longer have the disc.

    The codes work,sometimes you have to try them a bunch of times,have no idea why,however you can only play it on 360 until BC comes out...mine took like 8 tries

    You can't play f3 on xo yet I know as I have the disc and keep trying it in the hope it is available.

    GG I was given a code a few days ago and have the same issue. Just going to wait for a bit and see what happens then.

    I got the code a month or two ago used it immediately and it told me I now own the game I couldn't download it and still can't because it's not on the backwards compatible list yet it will be next week. I have a feeling you did same thing and just didn't
    delete message with the code and tried to reenter it

    As I said, I don't generally delete messages from XBL, pkvas, so I'll go back and see if I got a similar message with the same code a long time ago (I might have).

    Fyerball, as much as it may suck for the both of us, at least now I know I'm not alone and that we're in the same boat. Fallout 4's Fallout 3 pre-order code doesn't work ;)
