Fallout 4 shootout lag

Every time I encounter an enemy the game lags and freezes up 2 to 3 times in 3 to 5 second intervals. I've tried hard resetting my xbox. Deleting most of my game saves. Uninstalling and reinstalling the game and update but nothing works and this didn't start
happening tell roughly 45 hours into the game. Does anyone know how to fix this cause its really ruining the game for me.

...it's just lag man.....occasionally happens to everyone...frustrating in a shootout, seems like your gun chose a bad moment to decide it wanted to be an espresso machine instead...but it's just lag

Lag issues!

I played Fallout 4 yesterday and didn't experience any lag. Are you playing wired or wireless?

Hi Full Metal Flex,

Sorry you're having issues with your fallout game. If you start this game using another profile on the console does it happen? If there is lag I would suggest removing and adding your profile back to the console. Here are the
steps to remove your profile. Also, is this a disc or digital game? If it's a Disc game try clearing the persistent storage. To do this, go to settings, then disc and blu-ray settings, then under blu-ray settings clear your persistent storage. If this
is a digital game, is this installed to an external hard drive? If so try moving it to your regular hard drive. If it's installed on the internal hard drive, then (if possible) try moving it to an external hard drive.
