Fallout 4 mods disables achievements. No warning???

Well this sucks, My achievements have now been disabled on my main save because i downloaded a Mod to make the textures better. Now i will have to restart if i want 100% the game..... Seriously what is the point of these mods if you are just going to make
achievements disabled? I can see it would make people get to 100% easy and quick but who cares if they do. This sucks!!!!! can't believe i have to start over to get 100%

It's actually a legitimate question. Skyrim didn't disable achievements for either console commands or mods on PC.

 

It was my understanding that when you load a game with mods it automatically creates a backup save with the achievements still enabled? I totally agree though! Stupid move from MS and Bethesda, most of us just want GUI tweaks or the ability to bypass glitches
out quests. I'm hoping for a work around. Or Bethesda should flag certain mods such as GUI tweaks to not disable achievements and have the blatant cheat mods stay the same.

 

I had a back up save from a few levels ago so i was able to go back but it was from one i created. Let's hope they fix it so that we can have some mods with achievements still enabled. Ones that are like XP etc i can see not to have achievements enabled.
but then again whats the difference of someone putting the game on very easy?

 

Agreed. On Bethesda.net I've only seen one mad available that actually would be considered a cheat and that's the god mode one. EVERYTHING ELSE IS CONTENT!!!!!!!!

I also agree that disabling achievements should be based off a flag notice from Bethesda saying it is a cheat, like the god mode one.

 

I understand that the game had been out for a while and somehow there is this expectation that I should have all the achievements already. However, after playing the game on launch day I noticed a lot of problems, bug, UI stuff, lack of whatever, etc. That's
when I decided to put it down and wait for the mods, so I may have a better experience playing the game all while getting the achievements. However with this rule enabled, it effectively removes my desire to play Fallout 4 on this platform.

Yes I know about the original save duplicate, and no I don't want to play on that save because in my mind it is considered broken.

I feel like this is forcing me to buy the game again, much to my regret, on Steam where there is more possibility and where I don't care about achievements.

I have put a lot of work on getting achievements for games as an extra level of challenge, entreatment and re-playability.

This rule does not help.

 

No warning it says on the load screen when you click mods that achievments and trophies are disabled

You can also load in your game without mods if you press the change character option you can load the non modded version of your game with all mods disabled

So does the texture mod really look better? Are mods free? What happened to playing games for fun?
