Oh my god this is too much! (Way to go Microsoft!)

I couldn't believe it when they announced mods are coming to Fallout 4. Wasn't expecting that at all.

 

Free Fallout 3 code with digital purchase of Fallout 4

Purchased Fallout 4 on October 31st, and wanted to get the code for Fallout 3 which came with the pre-order. The message with the Fallout 3 code has expired.

@SV. In addition to what pkvas said, you download the mods in a separate menu (it will show up "mods") on the main menu screen of the game, where you load/continue your game. Just choose mods (duh lol) and it'll take you to that menu.

Once you have your mods downloaded, it will automatically be enabled, but you can disable, re-enable and delete them individually from the same area. Like pkvas said, all of your game saves will have [M] in front of the name of the save, to indicate it's
a modded save.

 

How are you guy's getting on with the mods for the X1? Any problems with the mods or Bethesda.net?

I saw a guide on the net to create a cat sanctuary! Apparently you can craft cats from milkbottles, who knew??

 

I saw that too!!! I felt like whoever wrote that knew exactly what I was looking for in a Fallout mod lol

 

Mods block achievements on the PC version of the game too. Then someone released a mod which removed that restriction.

I can't see that one passing Microsoft and Blizzard approval.

 

What type of cat is catmeat? And does he still fight?

Yea it's basically just a re-skin of Dogmeat as a cat lol but I'm easily amused and love cats sooooo win!

 

How are you guy's getting on with the mods for the X1? Any problems with the mods or Bethesda.net?

There are some problems. A lot of texture mods aren't working properly, especially the face morph mods, but some people can't get any re texture mods to work. Bethesda is aware
of it and are "looking into it".

The majority of problems outside of that seem to be with "new to modding" users that don't understand load order very well. I've been doing a good bit of reading up on it, as my
game has started freezing a lot just trying to get to the splash screen and I know I'll probably need to do some shifting around.

I started a new game, so haven't run into any characters that I've downloaded face morph mods for yet... but so far, once I finally get the game to start properly and load my save,
it seems to be doing OK with the mods I'm using.

I'm thinking about just temporarily disabling the face morph mods I have, until they get that whole issue sorted. That's a bit of a shame... those mods were some of the ones I
was really looking forward to. Hopefully they'll be fixed soon.

The only other big issue I see a lot of complaining about is piracy... not pretty.

It's early though, so hopefully many of these issues will get sorted soon enough.
