Fallout 4 installation missing and stopping

    I haven't played Fallout 4 recently but just today wanted to go back in. I opened up My Games & Apps and I couldn't find it anywhere. Not in the internal Xbox storage or the 4TB external hard drive. All my other games are present. The game should be in my
    external HD. Either way, it's not anywhere to be found. I have a disc copy so I inserted it into the console, and it comes up wanting to install it.

    At this point, why not? Though I don't remember, maybe I accidentally deleted it. As soon as I start the installation, it stops. Then comes up asking if I want to update the game now (22GB update). I decline as I'll do that after the game finishes.

    Immediately stops installation again. I then eject and reinsert disc and try again, only this time trying to update game before installing game itself. Still fails. Funniest part of all this is, when the disc isn't in the tray, my console/ext HD has no icon
    or recollection for the game or its add-ons. It's not even in the 'Ready to Install' list. There is only an icon for it when the disc is in.

    Mind you, I have season pass and all DLCs for the game. Their still in the list as "installed" when I go to manage game. Under manage game, there is no update needed or available, and nothing needs installed. The number count of total games I have is also
    off based on whether the disc is in the tray or not. 79 installed when in tray, 78 otherwise. Ready to install list stays the same, in reference to the problem.

    I also tried moving the game and all DLCs to internal storage, and it wouldn't respond to that command. Console just sits there. Any help here would greatly be appreciated. I fear I've lost my save as there is no data under Manage game, but in the least
    id like to play it. And apologies for formatting, I'm on a mobile device. Also, I'm on the original Xbox One.

    Installation keeps stopping

    I purchase Dead Rising 4 for the marketplace but the installation keeps stopping every few seconds it'll still make progress but I have to retry the installation over and over again

    Try a hard reset then, then go to setting and install updates before trying to install the game again?!

    Hi!

    I'm sorry for your inconvenience, but I believe there are corrupt data that prevent you from starting the game. Uninstall each previous installation and set the console to "Offline".
    Cleans the console cache by holding down the power button for 10 secs.

    Insert the disc and start the installation. Once finished, set the console to "Online" and update the game. Install the remaining DLCs you find in the "Ready to Install" section. Try to start a game. Your saves are on Cloud and will be synced to the console,
    except if you start a new game, overwriting the save.

    For any that have a similar issue in the future my answer came with resetting my console to factory settings. I chose the option of keeping my games and apps loaded, but deleted my personal information. Afterwards I was able to load the disc with no problem,
    although I did choose to delay loading the latest game update until I was done with loading the game. I suspect that it might have tried updating the game at the same time it was loading the disc. I had it set for automatic updates previously.

    I was going to suggest, try deleting the profile from the console and restart it and adding the same profile again to see if that would have worked.

    What you suggested about restoring it to factory settings and turning off the automatic updates (or just going to settings and turning off automatic updates without doing a factory reset) is a good idea as well.

    Sometimes, the console might just needed to have the cache cleared out of it as well.

    Another thing I tried doing is signing out, then signing in with my son's account, but it wouldn't let me load the game with his ID either.
