fallout 4 hopes and expectations

i'd like to see better weapon modding and benches. it'd be neat if you could build mods like silencers and scopes and whatnot from junk you find in the wasteland. give us more ingredients to use in reloading benches, and more weapons for the workbench, more
schematics like from fallout. yao guai/deathclaw gauntlets, a homemade powerfist, dart gun...and variations of each depending on how many schematics you find and whatnot, like a nuclear powerfist or flaming deathclaw gauntlet...

 

More interesting followers. Would it kill Bethesda to give the followers a little bit of personality?! Bioware did it with Dragon Age. No matter who you had in your party they would talk to each other, make jabs, argue, etc. It was hilarious at times.
Beth's followers are like those pull-string dolls that say the same things over and over.

 

or at the very least make follower quests easier to unlock and more interesting. i think some of the new vegas crew had missable triggers that could lock you out of their quest forever, like boone and either arcade or veronica had one-time speech triggers.
and it was confusing as hell what trigger would unlock ed-e's recordings. and ed-e's mission was getting an upgrade...

 

what about a weapons system like boarder lands very stat orientated i love the craft system maybe more mods for them to and most of all A BLOODY MULTI PLAYER it would be my game of the year if i could play it with my wife she would trip balls we both love

weapon system is fine, maybe either get rid of or move the dps indicator so i can compare weapons easier.

fallout is not a multiplayer oriented game, and they would have to tread very carefully if they ever added it. no competitive deathmatch arena modes, not ever.

co-op is a maybe, if they work it right and it's not required for any missions or exploration...no leaderboard ***.

 

hell no to multi player that will suck i mean 2 player co op just like both your characters merge into one game oped in and out freely and you can play the WHOLE game together i mean you have followers so it can work.

you really think weapons system wouldn't be better if a little more personal and more in depth?

 

i'd like to see some more player made weapons, and it's pretty much a no-brainer that we'll get unique named weapons scattered throughout the "" wasteland...but other than that, new vegas had a good number of new weapons that worked great for the environment.
having a "bagillion" weapons like borderlands or whatever just doesn't sound that great for a fallout game. weapon leveling doesn't feel like it'd work too well, either.

 

I would absolutely HATE a MMO style or multiplayer Fallout. Co-op would be nice. What I like most about the Fallout world is the feeling of vulnerable isolation. Other players would completely ruin the experience.

 

Vehicles would be cool.

Perhaps have limited fuel supply per vehicle to add a touch of realism to suit the setting.

Also perhaps allow for you to allow be aligned with a certain faction when creating a character. This would add player bonuses, and some specific missions like in Dragon Age Origins.

Ability to colour your own armour/clothing. Just to add that extra originality to your character.

And we all trust Bethesda to not go and wreck the player by giving him/her a voice. This limits your character so much.

Neither co-op nor MP is suited to a game like Fallout, Elder Scrolls. Unless of course Bethesda make a game soley for that mode. When it comes to the main game, its all about your character and how you will survive. You can't do that when someone is talking
s**t down your ear over a badly broken voice chat.

 

no limited fuel. the last thing i would call fallout is "realistic".

it's better to get in with a faction naturally in-game...though it might be interesting to be a part of a group, then leave or stay with them as part of the story and character.

i would love to change the color of our armor. combat armor mk.2 and helmet plus the rebreather gives off a bit of a stormtrooper vibe, being able to color it white would be awesome.

i don't think the engine bethesda uses is even close to being able to do voice for the main character. plus, every other character in the games have the same voice, i wouldn't want to add my character to that list.

 

Limited fuel would give you reason to use different vehicles and treasure your favourites.

I'm hoping for some really dark missions more than anything. I always remember in Fallout 3 there was a quiet little town and one house that had a creepy cannibal who freaked out the rest of the settlers. That could have been a really spooky mission set
but instead it was 'just there' and nothing was made of it.

One thing that Fallout never seemed to try was to freak the gamer out. Certain parts could make you jump, but in a setting where it's survival of the fittest, the game could have done with some real survival moments. I'm not talking about not having enough
to eat, but sections where you would need to escape. Chainsaw Massacre, Hills Have Eyes, Halloween. There is a tone of ideas you could take from those movies and work interesting missions around them.

 

having your vehicle shot at and turning into a nuke would do the same trick. limited fuel is a horrible game mechanic destined to the same level of hell as timed and escort missions or underwater levels.

maybe it's because that's not what fallout is all about. aside from deathclaws, and to a lesser extent yao guai, fallout is a more...family friendly nuclear apocalypse. the game engine, the characters, even the enemies, they just aren't built for "survival
horror". dead money tried to do all that and it was arguably the worst thing to come out of the franchise, certainly fallout new vegas at the very least.

 

i'm wondering if instead of a straight racial selection, there could be a ghoul trait or perk. it could work like a combo of the ghoul mask from fo3, confirmed bachelor...a bunch of those radiation resistance perks...actually just a perk that works like
animal friend, but for ghouls. ghoul friend. the second tier could give a 25-50% rad resistance...

 

I think MMO fallout would be awesome if it was like defiance and you couldn't kill each other unless you accept the challenge from the other player. it would also be cool if you can share look and travel in a pack of up to 6 players. heck, 10 players. lets
push it a little bit lol. I wouldn't be caught playing in a deathmatch against other players though. no matter how good I think I am, theres always someone out there is is better.

 

We'll see a Fallout 4 eventually. It might not even be called Fallout 4 for all we know. They may go the route of New Vegas and not to a numbered version. I am interested to see what they do next. I bet we'll see something soon.
