fallout 4 hopes and expectations

playing through new vegas once again, and i'm curious to see what everyone wants in the next fallout.

i doubt we'd be so lucky to get a new engine, so it'll probably use the skyrims creation engine. should be interesting to see the upgraded graphics, and moving away from talking heads is great.

because of skyrim having dragons that you can fly, in dlc, i wonder if we might find huge enemies around the *whatever* wasteland...maybe vertibirds that you can pilot? i doubt we'll ever get drivable vehicles in bethesda's fallout franchise, but it's nice
to dream of rolling across the wasteland in a rebuilt corvega...

everything we've heard, officially, about the next fallout seems to point towards a return to the east coast and around boston...which makes me want to see a story about the institute and new technological marvels, i.e. androids. maybe do like a bladerunner
type main plot with some skyrim thrown in, where you are a bounty hunter tracking down androids, and a civil war is brewing between the robots and their creators...actually it'd be more like terminator i guess, if the machines were more about just trying to
do their own thing and not so much the complete destruction of humanity. and your character may or may not be an android as well...or...

...let us choose different races. human, ghoul, or super mutant. humans are standard get an extra special point, ghouls are immune to radiation but suffer a negative charisma, super mutants are like ghouls but with a intelligence drop...maybe some other
stuff.

what do you guys want in fallout 4?

It is an Elder Scrolls tradition to start games with the hero in prison. That said, a town is never far from where you finally make your escape. It is almost a forgone conclusion that you will once again be in a prison at the start of Skyrim.

The games normally steer you in the direction of the main quest leaving the side quests up to you to discover. For example in Morrowind once you left the prison ship you were given orders to see Caius Casades in Balmora. Once there you no doubt joined the
Fighters, Thieves and Mages guilds. Exploring the continent leads to more and more side quests. Eventually you probably found a naked barbarian or 2 who needed help getting out of a predicament, or some cranky old lady's needing a guide.

In Oblivion the last thing the Emperor tells you is that you are chosen to track down his illegitimate son which leads you to Kvatch, but sooner or later you'll find yourself in Chorral doing the usual guild missions and learning of other side quests. Eventually
you were picking Nirn root and killing vampires for a secret group of wierdos.

Expecting to find a plethora of quests right off the bat defeats the purpose of being a low level character lost in a mysterious and unforgiving place with nothing but the clothes on your back. You are encouraged to explore, learn the layout of the land
as well as the people who live on it, and build your character in whatever way you desire. It's slow, but so fun and very rewarding.

Tbh I dont really care whats in Fallout 4. Just give me the dang game already.

 

whatever they do i think will be good bethesda have done it so often they have a good thing going, the old saying "if it aint broke dont fix it" comes to mind.

 

I see no reason why Fallout couldn't have some kind of transportation. Elder Scrolls has mounts. Fallout should let use a 4wheeler or something.

 

Great and extensive character creation, and not having messed with the over-the-shoulder, third-person view when scrolling the camera out. Because unless I'm picking stuff up... that's my default view.

That's what I'm expecting. =) But if they screw it up... I'm hoping for continued support in the modding community... and if any of my expectations aren't met. They eventually will be. Heh ha.

Other than that? Meh. It's going to be awesome. Todd Howard is a genius.

 

i'd like to see a world twice the size of past games with larger cities with more stuff and people to mess around with. theoretically this'll be for xbone and ps4, i'd like to see them work with what they've got...though i doubt it'll be much better than
the pc version of skyrim...

and please no more endgames. we want to keep playing your games, bethesda, don't make us restart everything just because we finished the "main" storyline.

 

I really hope they palm this off to another developer and make "The Elder Scrolls VI" instead.

Yeah I would be extremely disappointed if they sent Fallout to another developer.

I would like to see some type of transportation in Fallout. I don't always want to fast travel but I also don't want to walk halfway across the map.

Under no circumstances whatsoever is the patient allowed to view a copy of "Fallout: New Vegas" for fear his head might explode.

 

bethesda/zenimax is not going to buy the fallout franchise just to make one game, then toss it to the wolves. at most we'll get a game from bethesda, then another from obsidian...but this is definitely bethesda's baby and we'll keep getting fallout games
from them, moving between fallout and elder scrolls.

 

Brahmin wearing inline skates would make good transport. {XD

 

I'm pretty keen for this, can't wait for some news to be presented.
