Fallout 4 crashing on load screen

Mods are a common cause of crashes, the new update broke a lot of mods (the mod developers need to update their mods for compatibility with the new update) so I suggest trying to uninstall them and load a different save file. what happens? does it just stay on the loading screen? or does the system crash? either way have you tried cleaning the disc? I had a similar issue with Halo 4 - crashed at loading screen. Went and got the disc resurfaced at a Family Video store for $4 and
it was all good.

The same here. Game crash on main screen. When I unplug ethernet cable, game works, so it's something XBOX LIVE related!

Fallout 4 is notorious for random crashes.

there are certain areas of the map which are worse than others for causing crashes and the only option is to try to find a different way to get where you want to go, reload an earlier save and hope it works or start over from the beginning and hope it works.

using mods can also make Fallout crash more, but even without mods you are likely to get several crashes or other game breaking bugs.

if you are using mods it is vitally important to get the load order right to minimise the risk of crashing.

this link will help you work out which order to put your mods in, but even then there is no guarantee that you won't get any crashes.
